Sharon Carter Cenky (Good News)

Just spoke with Sharon's daughter, Sharon Lee Messing, and she said that Sharon is doing pretty good and will be released from the hospital this evening. Sharon Lee is going to pick her up and she will be staying with Sharon Lee for awhile. Also, a new phone number for Sharon is 678-755-4288, and Sharon Lee said that Sharon would probably enjoy hearing from some of her classmates. John T. Herman 210-396-1974 Live simply. Good News In My Part Of The Country
4
Finally, we are enjoying some rain. From last evening and throughout today, we have had a slow, steady rain, the kind that soaks in and really does some good. Rain gauge on my back fence shows just a shade over half an inch and we have about two more days showing rain in the forecast. Thank you, Lord, for this much needed moisture! John T. No body home?
Since Spring has sprung, I guess everyone has headed out on some adventure or another. Personally, I'm just working my way through getting all the danged leaves picked up or mowed over and then bagged. With all the high winds we have been having lately, I think I am picking up a lot of my neighbor's leaves as well as. On a good note, I have noticed that the mesquite trees around here are leafing out so no more cold winter days. Now, for some of those April showers... Anyway, hopefully everyone is doing well or at least the best they can. I thought I had lost another two pounds the other morning but then, I raised up my tee shirt and there they were, hiding in plain sight. Let's hear from everyone... John T. New Store Coming
I saw in the latest Murdoch's flyer that San Angelo will be getting a store in the near future. I enjoy browsing through the one up the road a piece. I can always find some of those things I really don't need but would like to have, you know, just in case. John T. Herman 210-396-1974 Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Sleepy Heads
7
Well, how many sleepy heads either forgot to set their clocks or just didn't get up in time to get to church? I really didn't like losing that hour of sleep but I did make it to church and, thankfully, there was plenty of coffee to sip before the service. Now, if there had been some big Cheerios, you know, donuts, it would have been great. Big Cheerios just sounds healthier. John T. Herman 210-396-1974 Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. DL Photo
4
Yesterday I went to the DPS DL Mega Center in San Antonio to get my driver license renewed. All went well and I got a paper with my picture on it to use until my "real" license gets mailed to me. I think they made a mistake on the photo though, it is of a really old man with a lot of grey hair. I'll have to see what they put on my license. John T. Herman 210-396-1974 Live simply. Just 27 days until Spring! I am so ready for warmer weather and I am hoping that by the time Spring gets here, I will have thawed out from taking the dog for her daily walks. John T. Bright Red Visitor
3
We had a bright red visitor drop in for a taste of the corn log that the squirrels like to nibble on. Since the squirrels leave a little bit on the tree, sometimes we get other visitors who come for a taste. John T. Herman 210-396-1974 Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Texas theater
4
.....what would you give to travel back to late 50s and early 60s and take your friend or date to the latest attraction at the Texas theater? AAAAHHHH the memories would come back to a time never to come again nor did we even think that it would be just a memory. The twinkling ceiling lights that represented the feeling of being outdoors and the sound system that could lift you up in your seat at the moment of unexpected action. That was a time when for one dollar could get you in to see the latest movie and still have change for a sack of pop corn and soda. You had many seats to choose from and for a higher view, you could go up to the balcony. Parking was available on the street out front and you didn't have to feed the parking meters after 6 PM. If you got there early you could window shop the jewelry store next door or observe the large posters on either side of the front for the upcoming movies. Yes those were memories that will remain as long as you remember your youthful days in our home town..it was a memorable place and time to have grown up in.

Feeling Special
5
Stopped by the church today to remind them at the Day School that we will be having a work day on Saturday and for them to get me a list of anything that needs to be fixed. I was surprised to find the note (see attachment) in my box in the church office. This is from the Day School director and the teachers. Sort of makes you feel special. John T. Trip to the VA clinic
4
Had to make a trip to the VA clinic yesterday to let them draw blood for an upcoming doctor's appointment. When I got there, and I got there early, the place was quite full with several of us standing as all the chairs were already taken. When a chair came available, I sat down and shortly the Vet next to me got called up so another Vet sat down in that chair. We sat there for awhile and then the fellow leaned over and said, "You know, about everyone here had to fast before coming so no body got breakfast. Now, what channel to they put the TV on, the danged cooking channel." We both got a good laugh and agreed it was sort of like torture to sit there and see them cooking such good looking dishes and knowing they probably tasted pretty good as well. Yes, when I got home, I did eat my breakfast even if it was a little past mid-morning. John T. Herman 210-396-1974 Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. Geez, not even full, but that moon is quite bright at 0400, Saturday. Almost bright enough to get a tan from moonlight. We had 0.6 in moisture, and temp now at lowest of 27F. If it snowed, it was minimal. Ready for Caribbean Beach time... Cheers, y;all.
