NXR-1800 ext MMDVM interface
Has anyone successfully interfaced an external MMDVM board to the RS-232 accessory connector on the Kenwood NXR repeater? I know the pinouts between the TKR-850/1 and the NXR appear identical in terms of what's required to tie to a MMDVM (the RB board for e.g), however I'm wondering if the NXR may be prone to audio phase distortion should it use a DSP based discriminator similar to a Quantar or XPR etc. Anyone using one of these on DMR or P25 that can confirm it does or does not work with the external digital modem? Swap: Ics controllers quantar 1x for a northcomm quantar ecm. 4
Looking to swap a brand new ics control quantar 1x for the northcomm quantar ecm and program cable. I'm looking for a more simple plug and play solution than something I need to jump through all sorts of gyration to get up and running. And I don't need all the capabilities of the ics I just need remote disable, and courtesy beep. So the northcomm might be better for me and the ics might be suited to someone who has more patience than i do to set it up properly and needs the advanced functionality of the ics. I'm only using this on a gmrs repeater so I don't need a bunch of advanced features or digital linking. My understanding is the northcomm is just set wildcards in quantar and then 1 adjustment on the board that requires no test gear to set it up. Suffice to say I can't get courtesy beep or remote disable to function on my quantar with the ics and the ics is brand new. I got voice id'er to work fine so I'm sure it's a setting on the ics board. I'm just out of patience to screw with it. I want an overall plug and play unit. I will also sell the ics outright for what i paid for it in leu of a swap. Let me be clear it's not ics fault it's l something I'm not doing correctly and I don't have the eyesight or dexterity in my hands anymore to work with small stuff like this board. Both tuned to 146.36/96 pair they cut the tie wraps holding the 4 cans together..the brackets had been misplaced but found and were to be reinstalled when repeater was discovered missing Also cables from rptr to duplexer and duplexer to Heliax gone....Sinclair Duplexer in cabinet that the rptr was sitting on not touched nor a UHF MII repeater...so this was personal....and I have 4 suspects in the list. Sheriff's office has been contacted. Contacting Boone Co Iowa (ironic) where the duplexer was bought from to get the SN on both units bought..lost the paperwork Chris WB5ITT

MTR2000 UHF Low Band 5
Hi, I own a MTR2000 UHF Low Band High Power. Apparently there is a way to get this low band within the ham band (430-440). I once saw a description on the repeater-builder website but can't find anything about it anymore. Is there anyone who can help me on my way? Thanks in advance, Manu - ON7FQ

Manual CDM Low-Band 6
Hi to All, I just bought a nice Motorola CDM-1250 Low-Band modified for 6 Meter Ham Band. But I am looking for the Service manual and I can only find the manual for VHF and UHF. The radio does work and turn on by the ignition accessories plug pin but I have some problem with the control head. No ON-Off button function, no Lights for the display, no RX-TX light, no Lightening of the DTMF Mike. And I have some question on the output power specs of this radio, it is set to 65 Watts in CPS put putting out 90 W on my Bird Bench Wattmeter? My Model is : AAM25DKD9AA2AN I am hoping that a member as seen this control heads problem before and somebody as the proper manual for this radio. Or at least the model number info to know what is the normal output power of this radio? Thanks’ to all for looking in their electronic document file. Best 73 Carl VA2CMB

weird issue 7
Hi, I hope someone can help me figure out an issue. I am trying to use a West Mountain Radio Rigblaster plug and play sound card interface to run echolink. The issue I am running into is that I use JAWS a screenreader that reads text outloud from the computer since I am totally blind. When I have my nomic working JAWS talks fine and everything is happy but when I connect the plug and play, I get the usual computer sounds out of my speaker, but JAWS doesn’t talk, (so I can’t do anything if it doesn’t read to me what is on eht screen). Does anyone have any ideas or how to make an external sound card play nice together with the internal one. I would be happy to use the internal card for JAWS, and use the USB card to run the plug and play, but I run into the same issue with the USB sound card. Thanks, Chad

Mtr2000 wireline 7
I'm trying to figure out why our mtr2000 isn't passing any audio. We're using an external repeater controller through the wireline connector. This is new to us, and we're trying to get things set up before we go to the site. Before I try too hard and break something... Is that 4 pin connector (J6) supposed to come off? How do I release the wires? I tried pushing into one of the small holes, figuring that would release a clamp. The wires aren't budging. Thanks. Don

VHF Duplexer Identification 7
Friends, Please take a look at the attached pictures and see if you can identify the duplexer. it seems like it may be something along the lines of a Decibel Products DB4062-WOC-B. In the Ham VHF repeater band, they seem to have about 1 dB per channel of passband insertion loss and about 75 dB of rejection in the notches. Thoughts? Thanks! Jeff KC8VFN

WTB: OEM Cellwave 526-4-2 harness set 3
Does anyone have a factory new old stock Cellwave 526-4-2 factory made oem harness set they want to sell? I'm looking for a set for this duplexer I got that someone converted to some kind of band pass filter. Or can someone manufacture a harness for set for me? I have attached a picture of duplexer for reference. Someone thought they might have a set but I haven't heard back from the person so I'm scoping out alternatives in case this person falls through. I will want to see pictures of harness set and I use PayPal for payment. Thanks Robert Kc8gpd Wrcm325 Scottsbluff NE

Grounding with a tower glued to the top 2
I am seeking advice where the RF feedline grounding/lightning arrestor block should be mounted to. I'm working on a project where the ham station is in the mezzanine of a warehouse where the tower was installed on TOP of the roof, with a seriously over-engineered mount in the middle of the building metal structure. The entire building has a ground rod ring around it that are connected to a 6" copper strap that does not NOT contact to the building. Near the coax entry point there is a building structural I-beam. The copper ground strap comes up along the outside side of the building, galvanically isolated, through a plastic tube and junction box, into the shack. So, for best lightning/EMP protection: 1. should the ground strap be sandwiched between the building i-beam and the ground block, or, 2. should the ground block be connected to the copper strap secured by some kind of isolating material from the metal building? If typing words is not your forte'; email direct for my cell number. Benjamin, KB9LFZ

220 MHz amplifier 10
Good morning, This question is for all the 220 MHz repeater owners on the list. We have a 25W repeater and would like to add an amplifier as it hears much better than its transmit coverage. Our exciter output is variable from 1 to 25 Watts. Our antenna is a DB224-JJ. What type of amplifier are you using? I’m really looking for options other than Henry and TE Systems but not seeing very many. James Adkins, KB0NHX Repeater Trustee - Nixa Amateur Radio Club, Inc (K0NXA) www.nixahams.net

In search of dB4060 -005 coupling loops or assemblies 3
Kevin has given me a lot of help tuning the overpainted and unknown dB4060 diplexer. It is smelling a lot like they are not the ham band model. If anyone has up to date contact info on the firm called duplexerrepair.com I would greatly appreciate it. If anyone has extra -005 coupling assemblies, please let me know, off list. Tait TB8100 CWID Configuration
I've got a TB8100 in GMRS service. I want to of course provide proper ID, but as I share the channel with another system, I do not want the ID to beacon, just politely properly ID routinely after use of the system. In the CWID System tab, pretty sure I do not want Automatic CWID checked - but ID after some period of local system use would be done via a Task Manager configuration? Examples, screen shots welcome.

Cellwave 526-4-2 harness specs 5
I have a cellwave 526-4-2 here and I'm attaching a picture that basically shows the issue. I need to make a whole new harness for it including antenna port harness. Can someone point me in the right direction for harness specs, cable type and length for 440-470 mhz? I need to make the antenna port jumper harness as well as the individual cavity harnesses. Idk what the jackass before me was doing but they butchered the harness. Thanks Robert
