Yes Tim. The cables seem to have gone the way of the dodo!?
Good luck.

Re: Mtr2000 wireline

Thanks. I did finally figure that out. The guy we got this from had the wires stuffed into the square holes. I moved them to the round holes.

I'm getting about 1.6vpp on the rx audio lines, that seems like plenty of audio. The cable from the mtr2k to a 9pin for the controller rings out properly, I'm seeing the 1.6vpp at the 9pin end.

It's gotta be something in the controller.? That's for tomorrow.?

Is that 4 pin connector (J6) supposed to come off?

How do I release the wires? I tried pushing into one of the small holes, figuring that would release a clamp. The wires aren't budging.

In California it's Cactus, in Texas it's Armadillo... You know what I'm talking about?

Jim Reese WD5IYT, sk, had an error message in the Dillo controller that if you entered an unknown command it would spit out FU in CW... When I asked Jim about it, he said "oh that stands for function unavailable!! "

I have since replaced the error messages in my Linkcomm controllers with that ??

Re: Attempting to program a Maxon SM2150. Looking for proper prog cable. Have software.

Thanks Max.
Too involved for me. I thought I could find am SMP2000 prog. cable and program thru the mike jack. (I have no info on the D shell 15 pin connector on rear of radio above power cable. inlet. No info at all on the 15 pin connector.
I'm going to look for some Icom F-121 radios and shelve the Maxon SM-2150's.

A check of the Service manual SM-2000 and it appears when the CPU puts the radio in programming mode (as per the programming manual) it switches over three lines IC412 4053.
DO, DI and SK from their normal functions on the 6pin RJ MIC connector , PTT, Mic and Hanger.? CS is also needed for 93C46 EEProm is present on the Mic connector.?
Tried the software SMP4004C in Dosbox-x and boy I miss the simple DOS programs, that actually work in a small amount of code.?
Just don't know how they generate the SK = serial clock pulses. The SMP2000 cable looks like a 9pin D to the 6 pin mic plug. Maybe worth a CRO look at the pins when trying to program to determine if there is a clock pulse there somewhere! CCT also shows an 8 pin socket inside the radio with same programing pins.?
?
Otherwise?
Then as a last resort I found page to directly read the EEProm and be able to write data from the software back into it. Again all care and no responsibility!??
might be useful information too.?

Re: MTR2000 channel steering

I've never done it with the MTR 2000 but I suspect it would be channel steering using the GPIOs via wildcard programming.. I've only stuck an MTR 2000 on only one frequency ?

That doesn't sound right: I remember reading through some old CoFeTel (former Mexican FCC) documents & seeing all the amateur repeater pairs available in Mexico.? There definitely were 220 MHz amateur pairs in those documents, so it sounds like a local Mexican official decided to just do whatever he wanted, in violation of their own regs.

There is now what sounds like a multi-site SCADA system in Tijuana with multiple TXs on 444.418 MHz.? My Sunset Ridge repeater above Claremont RXing on 444.420 sees only one of the TXs; I think that one must be on Cerro Colorado, as that does have a nearly LOS path to Sunset.? But I can't put any other radios on that pair that have a path into the tropo ducts else their input RXs see all the TXs for a good portion of the year, making them unusable.
