Re: How many hams have private repeaters?
#poll-notice
Hi all
To me running a closed repeater system goes totally against the ethos of Amateur radio. I'm also in Australia and all repeater systems must be open to any licensed ham to use which is the right

Re: Digital voice vs analog
900 MHz is where we did the most experimentation with hearclear. One local repeater runs it, another does not. We tested on Mike k8mdm's 900 quantar with and without it as well.
We normally don't

Re: Think we bricked a quantar.
First make sure you the orientation of your replacement 28HC64 is correct
in the socket.
Then make sure the SCM is pushed all the way in to the card sockets. They
can be a real pain to get seated

Re: MTR 2000 - PA fan reports not work, but it is working
If I was designing a system for preventive maintainance, I would monitor the current both start up and run. As the friction increases (bearings wearing) the current would rise.? This is how I'd do

Re: Digital voice vs analog
If I recall correctly Motorola’s HearClear system was only available on 900MHz and maybe 800 MHz radios. It was not available on VHF & UHF.

Well time for me to throw to half Pennie’s into the mess. And I fall directly into this question. I put my own DMR system because dmr around me sucks and the coverage is worth crap.

Re: Digital voice vs analog
In the case of the processing on W6MEP, the pre-emphasis is part of the ORBAN 8100A processor and the two work together to maintain deviation.? The processing consists of both gated AGC and a peak

Re: DR-2X Failure to Switch to DC
I’ll check to see if the battery is under the required voltage.
I have a battery tender from a motorcycle I no longer own. Guess I’ll add that to trickle the backup battery.

Re: DR-2X Failure to Switch to DC
While I like your idea of operating a battery and forgoing the AC all together, that would limit the output power to 20 watts.

Hi Tyler,
I remember that X2212 chip in a 1/2 tape drive, CDC or something 1980ish.
For the Tait T800 series with eproms, I've just programmed? a 25KHz
channel spacing eprom covering 146.000 to

Re: DR-2X Failure to Switch to DC
The two DR-2X that we own say that you can’t recharge the battery from the repeater. It says you need an external regulated charger to recharge the battery.
