Re: Tektronix Y400 vs Anritsu Cell Master
Make sure the site test box has carrier wave TX down to the lowest frequency you plan or will ever think you will use. Later module boxes go father down.
Not all site master type boxes measure carrier frequency error or FM deviation.. and some require external modules to measure RF power.
A VNA like some have will show frequency response and return loss at the same time, those are most ideal for tuning filters.
The Chinese $100 VNA is decent for very rough guessing, but most step at 300KHz so not good for VHF.
Expect $1k to $10k for a reasonable age unit that will do what you want. I like to look for the sellers whom taken care of their stuff, but are downsizing or don't care what the unit sells for as long as they know it will be used.

Does anyone have experience with both the Tektronix Y400 with YBA250 and YBT250 modules and the Anritsu Cell Master? I’m trying to decide on one for an entry level SA and VNA to use for radios, antenna systems and tuning duplexers. It’s not clear whether the Tektronix has a TG like the Anritsu and whether it would be suitable for tuning duplexers. I’m trying to determine whether I should lean towards one over the other. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Re: MTR-2000 continuation
Bought an USB FTDI cable from BlueMax49ers.com, and was able to read the MTR-2000 from an XP machine.... now to program it and see what happens....

Re: New to me Motorola R-2001b
Check the transistors on the video board looking for cracked and broken leads or they could be cracked internally. ?Look at the solder connections on the boards also.? if I remember it’s the A11 board.?
?
The problem is the transistors are too big for the leads and they break.?

Re: Motorola R2600 VGA Output
There’s no video adjustment option on the service monitor that I’m aware of. It’s just dumping the video processor board to the DB9 in a CGA RGB output. The newer models that have an LCD in them instead of a CRT may be a different story.

Chris,
other thing too, I looked at the station operation controls and briefly rx mode says active then switches back to inactive.
Thanks

Re: MTR2000 PL Decode question
Hi Chris,
The USB-RIM is set to use an active high signal for both COS and CTCSS. I have the PL line set in the wildcard however I just noticed that there isnt a output for pin C2 in the output group settings. There is an output for pin C4.
Other thing the wildcard checkbox is greyed out on the system configuration screen.
Thanks

Seeking Cans / The Rally Repeater Build
Greetings all,
I have enjoyed reviewing numerous posts on this group over the past several?months,?especially as I plan and have started a build of a 25W iCOM ID-2010V based mobile repeater on VHF.
I'm writing to ask for pointers on finding a duplexer to purchase.? I already own the iCOM repeater controller.??
My application is primarily?for portable use, supporting both Olympus rally and Oregon Trail Rally in WA and OR respectively.? Recognizing the challenges of a VHF portable, I have a trailer in hand with an onboard power system, mast, antenna, and enough space to mount and travel with a full sized 4 or 6 cavity system.
Requirements: 25W and .6MHz frequency pair spacing.
Please go easy on me as I am ~4 year HAM and this is the first repeater I have worked on from scratch.? I've spent some time with local clubs at repeater sites and have worked in partnership on a DIY dispersed 2 site repeater using 2X TYT 9800s in VHF config with UHF crossband interlink before.??
Any help?would be greatly appreciated, specifically sourcing?a duplexer best suited for portable, and advice on mounting it for vibration mitigation.? Perfectly happy to purchase and adopt used equipment in good shape.? I also welcome advice on what models or types to shy away from.
Lastly, if you are in WA / OR and interested in volunteering for Rally Communications support, please have a look at my QRZ.
73 all,
Devin H.
