Re: MTR2000 PL Decode question
Chris,
other thing too, I looked at the station operation controls and briefly rx mode says active then switches back to inactive.
Thanks

Re: MTR2000 PL Decode question
Hi Chris,
The USB-RIM is set to use an active high signal for both COS and CTCSS. I have the PL line set in the wildcard however I just noticed that there isnt a output for pin C2 in the output group settings. There is an output for pin C4.
Other thing the wildcard checkbox is greyed out on the system configuration screen.
Thanks

Seeking Cans / The Rally Repeater Build
Greetings all,
I have enjoyed reviewing numerous posts on this group over the past several?months,?especially as I plan and have started a build of a 25W iCOM ID-2010V based mobile repeater on VHF.
I'm writing to ask for pointers on finding a duplexer to purchase.? I already own the iCOM repeater controller.??
My application is primarily?for portable use, supporting both Olympus rally and Oregon Trail Rally in WA and OR respectively.? Recognizing the challenges of a VHF portable, I have a trailer in hand with an onboard power system, mast, antenna, and enough space to mount and travel with a full sized 4 or 6 cavity system.
Requirements: 25W and .6MHz frequency pair spacing.
Please go easy on me as I am ~4 year HAM and this is the first repeater I have worked on from scratch.? I've spent some time with local clubs at repeater sites and have worked in partnership on a DIY dispersed 2 site repeater using 2X TYT 9800s in VHF config with UHF crossband interlink before.??
Any help?would be greatly appreciated, specifically sourcing?a duplexer best suited for portable, and advice on mounting it for vibration mitigation.? Perfectly happy to purchase and adopt used equipment in good shape.? I also welcome advice on what models or types to shy away from.
Lastly, if you are in WA / OR and interested in volunteering for Rally Communications support, please have a look at my QRZ.
73 all,
Devin H.

I've had my TKR751 V2 running 40watts out for 2 years +...put an external fan on it to help but it barely gets warm even tied to the East Coast Reflector!?

<----I disagree. The pre Version 2's didn't have the improved PA
design and it was known for PA failures. Not extremely common but
they happened. Sure, you could retrofit the new PA board into a pre
V2 but it wasn't all that common to do. The new PA is essentially
bulletproof.

The main reason why I'll only buy v2 TKRs.
BTW I had a TKR-850 at full 40 W power for over a year: no problems -
hardly even got warm.? Only removed from service because I happened
to get a better radio to use (Tait TB8100).? A 2nd one has been also
running 40 W for 1 1/2 years now in MA: same result.

I think the isolation is measured from tx to rx port or the other direction with the antenna port terminated. Insertion loss would be one leg to the antenna port.?
|
The replacement piston trimmer cap is a Johanson 5602 1-30 pF 250V. I’ve seen a number of DB4060/4062 cavity sets with a blown trimmer cap. FWIW not an easy cap to source.?
If you look at the specs of the DB4060 4 cavity duplexer, each leg of two series cavities offers 80 dB isolation with 1.5 dB insertion loss. ?If you measure one side of the duplexer that is what you would expect to see.

Re: TKR 851 repeater for sale
- what is the difference between an 850 and an 851?
? 25 watts. ? TKR-850 is 50 watts intermittent, 25 watts continuous duty. ? TKR-851 is 25 watts continuous, period. ? Firmware-wise and feature-wise, TKR-851 is the equivalent of a “V2.0” TKR-850.? That is, there is no such thing as a non-V2 TKR-851.? Note that there is no “V1”; TKR-x50’s have either no version number, or they are “Ver 2.0”.? Additionally, the hyphenated number after the model number (e.g. TKR-750 -1) does not mean version 1; the hyphenated suffix is the bandsplit. ? 痴2’蝉 have a number of advantages over non-痴2’蝉, not all of which are important if you’re using an external control, but are generally more important if you’re not using an external controller. ? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? --- Jeff WN3A
