I know the feeling. I used to have a 2020 Edge that had the panormic
sunroof. It's beautiful, but nearly the entire roof is glass. Just a narrow strip of metal at the front and back, and no way to get under it to mount anything. Plus the hood and rear hatch had curves that precluded trunk-lip type mounts. Too narrow an opening on the hatch, and the curve on the hood would have left the antenna leaning inward at about a 20 degree angle. Had to go with an MFJ on-glass. Not very good. I could tune it for resonance on UHF or on 2M, but not both. But that was the ONLY option. hi mick,
well i was doing some cleaning here and i found one Larsen glass mount that my older brother ,also an amateur, gave me years,,,ago.i dont know the model but it has a long spring whip,,maybe 24-28 inch i dont know.i will install it and fixed the inside part with
just the masking tape and check the swr at 5 watts just to see the level.
i have a Bird swr meter so the lecture is right.
yes your Larsen is 250 or 280$ here at Radioworld in Ontario it is crazy.i dont have the budget for that price.
i check the antenna this week, tomorrow is my visit at my doctor !
when you become an oldman some parts falls ,,on the way to the end of life.

Hello Gervais, The Larsen kg-270 is a very good glass mount but they have gone completely crazy on the price. When I was installing mine, I used some packing take to hold it in place and look at the SWR. If I had both squares lined up, the SWR was really bad. Moving the inside of the vehicle part to a quarter of an inch offset, the SWR was perfect. Has been working very well for a few years. Mick - W7CAT ----- Original Message -----

Re: FS: thin client computers for DOS radio programming
These are good for FreeDOS so the specs below are well suited 128MB ram. 64MB disk on module, but that is not used with freeDOS on a USB thumb drive. On Wed, May 7, 2025, 19:38 Ken Arck AH6LE via <ken=[email protected]> wrote:

The problem is UV stability. I read in their documentation somewhere that the outer jacket isn't really UV stable. So look back at it again in 8-10 years.

You may have wanted to move the cable side in the vehicle to get a good match. That was what I had to do.

Hi Gervais,
I have 2 of these from years ago. They are very old stock, but are complete. They are marked 144-148 and 440-450. They have an adjustment on the internal box. If it is this type of Superflex, it might be fine.
But most of us refer to Superflex as something that is more like regular coax.
