well i was doing some cleaning here and i found one Larsen glass mount that my older brother ,also an amateur,gave me years,,,ago.i dont know the model but it has a long spring whip,,maybe 24-28 inch i dont know.i will install it and fixed the inside part with
just the masking tape and check the swr at 5 watts just to see the level.
i have a Bird swr meter so the lecture is right.
yes your Larsen is 250 or 280$ here at Radioworld in Ontario it is crazy.i dont have the budget for that price.
i check the antenna this week,tomorrow is my visit at my doctor !

Hello Gervais, The Larsen kg-270 is a very good glass mount but they have gone completely crazy on the price. When I was installing mine, I used some packing take to hold it in place and look at the SWR. If I had both squares lined up, the SWR was really bad. Moving the inside of the vehicle part to a quarter of an inch offset, the SWR was perfect. Has been working very well for a few years. Mick - W7CAT ----- Original Message -----
