hi mick,
well i was doing some cleaning here and i found one Larsen glass mount that my older brother ,also an amateur, gave me years,,,ago.i dont know the model but it has a long spring whip,,maybe 24-28 inch i dont know.i will install it and fixed the inside part with just the masking tape and check the swr at 5 watts just to see the level.
i have a Bird swr meter so the lecture is right.

yes your Larsen is 250 or 280$ here at Radioworld in Ontario it is crazy.i dont have the budget for that price.

i check the antenna this week, tomorrow is my visit at my doctor !
when you become an oldman some parts falls ,,on the way to the end of life.

Hello Gervais,

The Larsen kg-270 is a very good glass mount but they have gone
completely crazy on the price.

When I was installing mine, I used some packing take to hold it in place
and look at the SWR. If I had both squares lined up, the SWR was really
bad. Moving the inside of the vehicle part to a quarter of an inch
offset, the SWR was perfect. Has been working very well for a few years.
