Re: Checking frequency accuracy?
Hi Bruce, The VNA frequency accuracy is spec. I believe it is less than 0.5 ppm. You can set the unit into a CW mode or essentially zero span. Hence you can count the output. Place a counter on

Re: Measuring unknown C or L with nanoVNA?
Hi John. You are correct. As the device under test, DUT, has a |Z| << Zo or >> Zo, accuracy suffers. This is why the performance and accuracy of the open and short cal pieces are so important.

Re: TDR Python Script
qrp.ddc, This is what I needed. I did not have cables with any other impedances so I could not test the cascaded impedances case. Thanks for uploading the file. Looks like hwalker has solved your

Checking frequency accuracy?
I am curious if/how the frequency accuracy could be assessed with the nanoVNA. I assume it would involve a signal generator of known frequency, but I wasn't sure what the typical procedure would be,
Re: Calibration data statistics
My point is, if you buy a nanoVNA which comes with a cal kit, what accuracy can you reasonably expect from it? That is what I'd like to determine. It's a perfectly tractable problem given enough

When ordering from aliexpress be sure to read what is included. A lot of the units do not have batteries installed. Look for the following statement, "Batteries are not included due to the safety of

Re: NanoVNA SWR vs AIM 4170D SWR
Turns out it was a broken pin on an SMA connector. I went looking for the missing pin and found it in my SpyVerter. Was lucky enough to dig it out with a sewing needle. Since I won't be using the

Joe, I don't know what you are looking for.? Mine doesn't have the shielding, but it appears to work pretty well to me.? I see them as low as $33.99 with free shipping from aliexpress.? I suppose

Re: Place to buy
For what it's worth - I received mine today (a day sooner than expected) from ST-EC which had a 99.1% positive rating. It is shielded and works very well at HF compared to a $500 AIM 4170D. I don't

Measuring unknown C or L with nanoVNA?
Hello all, Am I correct in thinking that as reactance (of an inductor or capacitor whose value is unknown) moves further and further away from 50 ohms, that a nanoVNA would quickly become less

Re: Place to buy
In this kind of open hardware environment it seems like it falls to the customer to do the quality control. So what should a novice VNA user like myself look at in my new nanoVNA? I don't have access
