Quisk radio Softrock with Si570: frequency not multiplied by 4 8
Hello Group and Jim in particular, I would like to use QUISK with my PE0FKO-type USB interface to tune Si570 but without multiplication by 4, i.e. just tune, no reception, no transmit. I wonder if it would be sufficient to modify the config file(s) involved, I already tried to change "* 4" => "* 1" but with no effect. This is something I need in my Linux installation (Linux Mint version 20). There might be other software to do this, at least in Windows, but for me QUISK is familiar and readily installed (for Hermes Lite mostly). 73 de Heikki (OH2LZI)

CTS controls only TX, not PTT 3
Hi Jim, et all, I am trying to control the remote head using CTS. I have configured the hardware PTT as follows: config screen: "Use PTT when low" and "quisk serial port /dev/ttySAC0". However, when I activate the hardware PTT switch on the microphone all I see on the Main Display is the small button to the right of the PTT button which turns RED (and shows "TX"). The PTT button itself remains unchanged (grey) and the system does not go into transmit mode. Any clue what I am doing wrong? 73s, Peter, PA3BIY

Remote head: Use of IO pin to detect PTT status? 2
Hi Jim, et al, The remote head is working really fine, but I would like to set TX/RX not only by touching the TFT screen, but also by observing the microphone switch (i.e.: a "0" or a "1"). In the config screen of Quisk there are ample possibilities to use serial data formats, but I wonder if one of the (ODROID XU4) IO's could could be used for that purpose as well (would save me first to encode the state of the PTT and then send it in a serial format). Much obliged for any suggestions! 73's, Peter, PA3BIY

Quisk conf.py Si570 QRP2000 8
Hello everybody, I need to modify the .quisk_conf.py file in order to control the Si570BBB of my QRP2000 generator by sdr-kits.net https://www.sdr-kits.net/QRP2000-kits I want to use the QRP2000 generator for a simple downconversion receiver with a 10.712 intermediate frequency (no quadrature). Which lines should I add before the usual soundcards lines in the .quisk_conf.py file ? Franco iz2oos

Quisk Version 4.2.17 February 2023 14
I fixed the PTT keyboard shortcut on Linux. The "documentation" link at the top on the Help screen now works on all platforms. The "Split" feature now defaults to 1000 Hz for CW, and 3000 Hz for other modes. You can now lock either the Rx or Tx frequency. Jim N2ADR

Modify SSB send buffer size with AC2YD remote? 4
Dear group, I'm setting up a remote Hermes Lite 2 in an solar powered off-grid location with 4G internet connection. The connection is rather high jitter, with a round-trip of around 50ms and occasional spikes upwards 200ms. I manage to get a good and stable receive signal. However when I transmit my signal seem to chatter and chop, I test by monitoring using full-duplex (FDX). The CW-spot signal is quite reasonable. I've tried transmitting JS8Call test-messages, and those signals get heavily distorted and chopped. I don't understand how the buffers are setup, and I wish to increase the buffers on the remote end of the AC2YD package. The settings I'm currently trying to use are: Quisk version 4.2.17 PTT Hangtime msec: 200 Tx buffer msec: 500 Play latency msec: 1000 Start SSB delay msec: 1000 Start CW delay msec: 150 I also tried changing RX_BUFFER_SIZE in remote.c, and then re-compiling quisk. I don't know exactly what that implies, but I'm open to modifications of the code if needed. I'd be happy if someone could enlighten me with how to modify the send-buffers, or if there is something else that you think I might have missed. Best regards and 73 de Ludde

Correct values for HL2 with Quisk 3
I have just received my HL2. What is correct max value for RF power with Quisk? And correct temperature value during transmission? Regards Franco Spinelli IW2DHW

Quisk Version 4.1.67 July 2020 17
I improved the Windows CW operation for SoftRock. Windows sound should now be stable when using "fast sound". Please test. I fixed the colors on the config screens when using the "Adwaita dark" theme. The hardware CW/PTT input now works on voice modes for HiQSDR. Jim N2ADR

Lineout ? 2
I was playing a little RTTY using fldigi. when I press "mute" the audio disappears from both speaker and the signal to fldigi. If I do the same with wsjtx the signal is not affected. So a line signal (like the digi signals) would be nice. 73 de oz9ny, niels

Quisk and the 'old' Alex(aires) filters 4
I think this will be a question for Jim, N2ADR. I have an 'old' openHPSDR https://openhpsdr.org/ which is the original modular pre-Hermes SDR with Metis, Mercury, Pennylane, PennyWhistle modules and the Alex(airies) filter set. I'd like to run Quisk remote with the openHPSDR, but need to be able to correctly configure the Alex filters - I seem to recall they were in an older release of Quisk? Is it much of a pain to re-instate them? I'm liking Quisk remote and have it running with an HL2 but would really like the 160 to 6 metre functionality of the openHPSDR on the remote site. Quisk 4.2.16 error 5
I had Quisk 4.2.15 running on my W10 machine with Python 3.10.9. I was trying to set up a Quisk remote Client, however, the prompt and data entry field for the IP address was not displaying on the Remote tab (in Config). So I upgraded Quisk to 4.2.16 hoping that would solve the problem. Now, when I try to run it, I get the attached error message. A window appears momentarily and immediately disappears. I regressed to 4.2.15, and had the same problem. I uninstalled Quisk and reinstalled from scratch - it installed 4.2.16, and I still have the same problem. I would appreciate some assistance in fixing this. Thanks, Tom

Feature request for split mode
Hi Jim, Here are a couple feature requests for split mode, that I hope will be easy to implement: 1) Lock Rx freq 2) For CW (only), default split of 1 KHz (instead of apparent 3 KHz default) THANKS! -- Ben, AC2YD --

Quisk and HPDSR with multiband 4
Hi all, does anybody of you have experience with HPSDR and multiband operation in Quisk? Specifically i am looking for information how good reception of different bands in parallel is working. I want to use a TRX-DUO with hpsdr compatible firmware and Quisk plus some external converters to do QO-100 fullduplex (TX on one band and simultaneous RX on the other band) as well as using it with microwave transverters. Any information about if my use-case could work is welcome. regards Mario, DH5YM

Remote operation quisk and Hermes lite2 4
Hi. I've been following the exciting remote project in Quisk and I've made many attempts to get it working but I'm stuck. I belong to the group of radio amateurs who will soon move into a apartment without the possibility to set up an antenna for amateur radio. Connected log file on both Controlhead and Remote but do not understand what is going wrong. Is there anyone in the group with more expertise who can see what I should do to at least get some momentum? 'Error starting HPSDR hardware, is it connected and powered?' 3
New to Hermes Lite 2 after just receiving the radio last week. Currently trying to install software. I would like to use "PowerSDR_mRX_PS_v3.4.9.0" as my software. But I keep getting the error in the heading of this post. I've found the IP of the radio and entered it under the tab General/Hardware Config. Any idea why I keep getting the error?
