Re: Connecting Xiegu X6100 using FLRIG to WSJTX Linux Mint

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Also if you have HRD in windows, it also runs very well in linux under wine/bottle/crossover etc, and works great with linux wsjtx.

I use it here with a FT-897D that I had issue with other methods incl flrig on Debian. Mainly when using rig split.

I think your radio use's IC-7300 cat code. As I said if you setup radio vox, and set wsjtx ptt to vox (which means wsjtx does nothing for ptt and leavces it to the vox device),

Then it should work fine. I use the same method vox with my Elecraft KX3 on wsjtx for reliability.

Dave, thanks for the response, and that's great, I'll branch from sourceforge. I'm surprised I didn't find it there.

I would love to have another kachina, for parts if nothing else. And maybe I can fix the power issue.

I'd be happy to pay shipping and trouble and a bonus if I can make it work ;)

Re: QSO today podcast with W1HKJ

Hi Bill,

I never included the kcat / kcts control in flrig primarily because the 505DSP requires a bit more attention to I/O than does other transceivers.? The?possible exception being the Paragon.? The current software source is located at =

and at Source Forge:?
  • git clone fldigi-kcat
  • git clone fldigi-kcts
BTW, that Kachina 505 DSP is in an original box in the attic along with a remote vfo knob, 505 TX.? The transceiver had low output power, but otherwise in perfect condition.? Both are available if you are interested and don't mind paying the shipping cost.

One thing that came up in the interview, from 2015, was that Kachina 505DSP was one of the two rigs Dave said he had at the time. He also talked about flrig. I'm just curious given those two facts why flrig doesn't support the 505DSP, since it seems it was his active rig control effort at the time.

No complaints though, kcat, a one rig driver, is a fine 505DSP controller, I use it daily.

Which gets me to my last comment, Dave, in case you're reading: is kcat on github, or are you willing to put it there? I occasionally find some small bug and fix it, and I'd like to start a branch for that purpose so my changes don't get lost and have a chance of being rolled up easily at some point. Last time I sent you changes, you graciously rolled them in, but it was a somewhat tedious process. The number is probably small, but there still are a few kcat users and live 505DSP radios.

quieting fldigi event log (and stdout/stderr)

I'm running fldigi 4.2.06 built from source. If run from the command line, and/or if I look at the ~/.fldigi/debug/status_log.txt, I see a very dense log, including I: and D: messages, even though the default is documented as WARN. Event supplying --debug-level 0 doesn't quiet this. I can quiet it after I start it running by opening the event log from the gui and setting it to quiet.
?
Is debug level being forced to start with debug level logging during development maybe? As is, the log gets very big if I let it run for a long time.
