Re: flrig keeps switching mode to USB

Steve

I feel your frustration but it still beats Windows. I have tried many distributions. Ran Linux Mint for about 3 years. Now I duel boot Linux Mint 21.2 and Fedora 40. Fedora works best for me on RTTY.?

I am hopeful that one day there will be logging software available as good as Amateur Contact Log and N1MM.?

I did have the same problem you described but on Mint with an IC-7300. I did have a box not checked.?

Good luck with your endeavors!

After over a year of playing with this, I still can't get flrig (version 2.0.05, running on a mac Mini (M2 chip) with macOS Sonoma 14.6) to leave my Elecraft K4D transceiver's settings alone when the app starts.? It always changes the mode ?to USB, reduces the filter bandwidth from whatever the prior setting was (usually 0.25 kHz) to 0.05, and reduces the volume to zero.

I have tried Cliff's suggestion of unchecking "Use xcvr data" and checking all the other boxes.? I have tried checking and unchecking every combination of the boxes on the "Read / Restore these parameters" panel.? I have repeatedly read and tried to implement the flrig help text's statement Check "Use xcvr data" if you want flrig to NOT change the transceiver operating state when it begins execution", but I can't get it to behave that way.
?
Are other K4 users of flrig experiencing this?? What settings are others using (regardless of rig) to avoid changing the transceiver operating state when flrig begins execution?? Is there a bug?? It doesn't seem to behave as described in the documentation.
?
Frustrating!
