Re: Problem tunning at 40m

Hi David,
Thanls for answer.
I understand what you mean,
I'll work in this way and I'll come back.

Re: Problem tunning at 40m

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Pedro,

If you experience tuning only one band or frequency, this might be a problem of coax wavelength.? The coax feeding into the tuner might be a harmonic frequency which causes the radio signal to be too low or too high to tune.? Try adding a couple meters of coax, or changing to different coax to see if the problem goes away.?

?

Hope this helps,

David

Problem tunning at 40m

Edited

Dear all,
I have dete4cted one probolem i have working at 40m.
I have an LDG AT100ProII and IC7300. Always tuning with 10wats.
the tuner always tune at moment by the memories except at part of the band of 40m (part of ft4 and ft8). Some times it load the memory tunning settings and other ntimes start a new tunning cicle.
At the end always with the same LC configuration. If I set up the LDG manually by Cup/dwn and Lup/dwn it works ok as it will be.
The SWR is stable at this frequencies and it does not change and is not related with rain or cold/hot.
I have install ferrite cores to avoid rf returns but it still fault some times starting a new tune cicle with the same final LC setup....
PLs checked and changed if looked not so good and screws and connexions checked
Any idea??
At the other antenna connetion I have not notice this problem.and the only test to do now is to change ant1 by ant2 and work some days....

Some more info:
I setup the ldg for 7.074 and its ok. also for 7.047,5 and also ok. I can change from one to the other and some times it selects the LC setup at moment and other times i eard 2 clicks but never makes a complete tune cicle.
Select 7100 and pulse tune (it was setup before and working) and the ldg makes a complete tune cicle (If i pulse tune again it doesn't make a complete tune cicle) and after that if I go back to 7074 or 7047,5 it makes again a complete tune cicle fot both.
It did it two times... If it retunes at 7100 then tunes also at 7074 and 7047,5 (this are the test freq I used: 7074, 7047,5 and 7100)

Anybody any idea????
Or sugestion?
Or solution?
Or experience like this?

The only idea I have is to check then weldings and specially of relays, capacitors and inductors....

Re: Question on Auto Tune SWR Threshold

Hi Mark
I have the at100proii and i thing both work at same way: The tuner tunes the antenna to an swr less than 1.7 but? ot always the minimum swr and you can manually adjust the swr to 1.1.
Some times you can not reach this value and it is necessary to made a new tuning cycle to find other adjust different than before and try to adjust manually

Question on Auto Tune SWR Threshold

I have an AT200 Pro (not Pro II). I know the threshold setting determines the maximum SWR the tuner will detect before it begins a tuning cycle. ?Does it also set a "minimum" target SWR??

That is, If I set the auto tune threshold to, say 1.7, will the tuner tune until it gets to 1.7 and then be "done" or will always tune to the minimum SWR it can find?

I am planning on upgrading to general, I was big into Hamsats in past years and now planning a road trip and new vehicle in 2021 so I want to equip for 10 and 6 FM for cruising. Also I have some licensed part 90 itinerants I wish to cover in the 35 and 43 MHz range. I want auto tune because I don't want to be stopping every time a band opens up to switch out coils or whips. My XYL will be annoyed enough by the chatter.

I contacted LDG directly via e-mail and got sort of a curt answer, "maybe an SGC tuner would work for you". Did not expect that, thought I would be steered to the AT-200ProII and given guidance on shortest whip for 10-6M.? I have no need for HF at this time.

Re: AT-100 PRO II Mounting Bracket?

I remote mounted my 857 body so I just used some large hose clamps to clamp my z11pro to the body of the 857. You could do the same thing with the AT100 as it is about the same size as the 857 body.

Re: LDG100ProII question about memory tunes

Dear all,
I come back with this issue because I have found the replay I'm lookng for the LDG in other tuner,
The MFJ993 has this information in its manual page 16 table 1. Please see attached file 993.jpg
What is the the resolution at the LDG100ProII??

Re: Z100+ tunes but AT200 Pro will not???

Update: LDG reports that they "recalibrated the unit" and have sent it back to me. ?I should have it for the weekend.

Hopefully, my ATPro 200 will now tune on 80m and 6m, just like my Z100+ can!

Re: Z100+ tunes but AT200 Pro will not???

More and more, I tend to think the AT200Pro will be found to have some issue. I connected my MFJ analyzer directly to the feed-point of the antenna ... As you can see, without any tuner, the SWR on 80 and on 6 is well within the tunable range. ?It certainly makes perfect sense that the Z100+ plus can find a tuning solution for 80 and 6 ... it remains a mystery, why the AT200Pro cannot.

Off it goes to LDG tomorrow, via USPS priority mail. :-0?

Re: Z100+ tunes but AT200 Pro will not???

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

FYI Everyone - I did the full reset on the AT200Pro of holding down the three buttons, while applying power through the DC 12V plus in the back ... It did reset!

No help. :-( I still get "all the SWR LEDs blinking" when I try and tune on either 80m or on 6m, whereas with the Z100+, it easily find a low (1.5:1 or better) solution on both 80m and 6m.

I will say the AT200Pro works fine on every band 40M through 10m ... It is possible, perhaps, that certain of the values of inductance or capacitance (certain relays?) are broken, resulting in the apparent lower tuning range of the AT200Pro compared to the Z100+ ... I did, after all, buy the AT200Pro used ...

Off to LDG it goes, let them check it out and either:

  1. Verify it's working 100% to spec and confirm I have a mystery
  2. Fix it. :-)

Re: Z100+ tunes but AT200 Pro will not???

I just found this on the LDG FAQ page:

There is no way to reset all the memories at once. They are overwritten each time you perform a full tuning cycle on the frequency associated with the memory. So it¡¯s the same as a full reset, then reprogrammed with each frequency position as you use the tuner.?

Answered one of my questions.
