Re: RT600 Calibration Procedure
#z-11
it is an original unit and with the board being worked on the bench, some of the controls on the PCBA might have been altered (unknown). Hence, if there is a procedure I would like to use it to calibrate and verify the correct functionality. It is being proactive since the tuner is opened and on the bench, that is the time to do it.?
If someone has the procedure, please let me know here or via direct messaging. Thank you, Gene |
Re: RT600 Calibration Procedure

I doubt that changing a relay would require recalibration.
At worst the unit has to have the memory cleared so that the attempts to tune with the correction switched in by the relay would be incorrect.? The software would assume the value of the correction in it's basic programming.? Even without clearing the memory at the next retune the solution would be stored for that frequency. JD KE4MD |

开云体育I don’t have an answer for you, but just another question.? Changing a RELAY requires a RECALIBRATION on the RT-600?? ? Vy73 - Mike - KD5KC. El Paso, Texas - DM61rt. SOTA W5T-Texas Association Manager.

RT600 Calibration Procedure
#z-11
I have the RT600 remote tuner which I just replaced a burnt relay and would like to perform a calibration procedure prior to putting it back into service.
Can anyone provide me the calibration procedure for the RT600 or the RT100. I have seen a generic procedure in the files section but I prefer the one that addresses all adjustments on the circuit board assembly. Thank you, K5PA, Gene |
RC/RT-600 Memory Tune Oddity
I recently acquired an RC/RT-600 to replace an AT-600 ProII that I set up remote at the base of my flagpole antenna.? The AT-600 replaced and RT-100 in the same application.? With the RT-600, if I tune on a band, and transmit several times, it does a full tune on the first transmission and a memory tune on the subsequent transmissions.? If I change bands, tune there, and go back to the original band, it does a full tune on the first transmission.? Is this right?? If it is, why does the tuner need 2000 memories?

开云体育Steve – ? When I first set it up, I felt the same. But now that I’ve used it for a while, it seems natural to hold the button for a second and the issue is gone. ? I seldom use bypass and virtually never use quick tune.? I just let it follow the rig and do its thing.? I’m “sort of” operating remotely, as I am more focused on the computer screen in front of me than the rig/amp/tuner etc which is on another rack 90 degrees to my right.? Once “trained,” when operating WSJT-X (or any other digital SW) I just listen for the momentary “click” and know it’s ready to go.? I’m actually pretty impressed with this little unit.? In some ways, it’s way ahead of my Elecraft KAT500. ? 73 Lyn, W?LEN ? PS – Tnx for QSO on 12/29. ? ? ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Steve_KE4LC ? Lyn, I have also been wondering about the bypass/quick/full tune button setup since the AT series was introduced - very awkward function combination! ?The timing gap between a quick tap to bypass and a 0.5 second press to quick tune is just too narrow.. ?In bright light, the bypass indicator LED can be hard to see unless it’s directly ahead. ?More than a few times, I have inadvertently bypassed the tuner while tuning. ?For something as critical as a bypass, it should have its own button. I am actually thinking of redoing the front panel buttons and have them controlled by a Raspberry Pi Pico + relay board to enhance the tuner’s capabilities to run in my remote rig setup. ?Doing so would allow remote access to the tuner functions and eliminate human button pressing timing concerns for end users..? |
Re: At-1000 pro 2 and 10m
开云体育Memory tune on the LDG AT-897 Plus tuner is done by holding the TUNE button until the LED comes ON. ? Perhaps this is also possible on other LDG tuners. ? Perhaps not. ? (The AT-897 tuners were only compatible with the Yaesu FT-897/D transceivers). 73, Kent K9ZTV On Feb 21, 2023, at 4:01 PM, Steve_KE4LC <sfwright101@...> wrote:

Re: At-1000 pro 2 and 10m
开云体育Sorry, misunderstood question.? My early reply was in reference to using ALE.? When scanning with ALE you would want the tuner to go to bypass after sounding/transmitting.? If tuner remains in line while scanning it has an affect on the other freqs being scanned. Please disregard my early post. 73 Emory? WM3M On 2/21/2023 4:21 PM, Lyn Norstad

开云体育A momentary (very quick) press of the TUNE button puts the AT-600 into Bypass mode, whether you just tuned it or not. ? The question is, if you need it to tune, why would you want it to subsequently go into bypass mode? ? 73 Lyn, W?LEN ? ? ? 开云体育I’m using an Icom 7300. A full retune or frequency change cures the problem. It’s a strange one! Ian On 21 Feb 2023, at 20:35, Al Waschka <awaschka@...> wrote:

Re: At-1000 pro 2 and 10m
My AT-600 ProII does the same thing.? It is not going to bypass because the SWR is good, but signal levels are down 10 dB or more on receive.? IF I go to a different frequency and retune, the signal levels come up.? I am using it remote with a 25' unshielded cable for control.? I have ferrite clamp-ons on the control cable at the antenna, but my suspicion is that RF on the control cable is interfering with operation. |
Re: Using Z-100A tuner "manually" with home-brew rigs
I have 2 QRP CW transceivers that I built (20M, 40M) following a design published by K9AY in QST Dec 1990 and Jan 1991.? They each run 5-10W output.? I also have a Radio Shack HTX-100 10M CW & SSB radio that runs about 25W output.
There is no obvious way that I could see to activate the Z-100A from either of the home brew rigs,.? The HTX-100 does have a low power switch that I use when I am tuning it.? However, in all 3 cases, I simply press the button on my keyer that closes the key and tune with that signal.? I'm not worried about the 10M rig since it has a low power option.? The 2 home brew rigs seem sufficiently robust to use a manual tuner with them and I never know in advance, other than by listening to the receiver, where the right starting point will be.? But it is my understanding that the Z-100A will start tuning at the last tuned combination for the frequency it sees, unless I read that wrong. Being able to use the LDG tuner greatly simplifies the kit I need to carry, if it works. |
