Re: AT-7000 and FT-891
开云体育Ryan, The AT-7000 works pretty much
the same as any LDG tuner, they are all basically the same
except for the interface cables.? If you can make or find a
cable that will work with the AT-7000 and the 891 it should
work fine.? I used one for various rigs.? Some of the less
expensive LDG tuners do not have auto tune mode, so it would
have to be keyed by the transmitter to start tuning.? Also you
do not need to have a cable between the rig and the tuner,
just coax from rig and power.? But you would need to apply
power via the 6 pin mini din or it might be possible to add a
9 volt battery to the inside of the tuner.? I am pretty sure
the connector is a 6 pin mini din like the ones on many rigs
and same as the old type mouse cables.? The pin outs are in
the manual. good luck? 73 Emory? WM3M On 2/18/2023 4:00 PM, K4TXN via

Re: Using Z-100A tuner "manually" with home-brew rigs
What rig are you trying to use the Z100 with??? I have Z100 and have used with my IC705.? There is a control cable between them and on IC705 in menu has TUNE button that will force the rig to key, put out low power and command the tuner to tune.? Other rigs can be used in this way if get proper command cable. Otherwise can use the Z100 in auto mode where when it sees RF it checks for it giving 1.5:1 SWR or better and if not automatically tunes.? Most LDG auto tuners function this way.

Re: AT-7000 and FT-891
The Yaesu FT-891 does not provide the necessary _START signal to directly operate the LDG AT-7000.?
Yaesu rigs send serial CAT commands to the FC-40 or FC50 Yaesu antenna tuners.
?
You will have to wire a manual START button to the AT-7000.?
The TX REQ signal on the ring of the 3.5mm REM/ALC jack on the FT-891?
can connect to the _KEY output of the AT-7000?
(This is accomplished with the Y-ACC cable to the FT-891 for LDG tuners with the 3.5mm TRS jack [_KEY connected to tip], instead of the mini-DIN jack used on the AT-7000.)
Power can be supplied from the TUN/LIN jack or from an external battery.??
?
Set power output to 5 to 10 watts max. while tuning.?
(on Icom rigs, _KEY signals the transceiver to reduce power to 10 watts while tuning).
Whistle into the mike if on SSB, otherwise set mode to CW or RTTY while tuning.?

Re: AT-7000 and FT-891
It is basically the same as the later units, but the relay logic is different. The control is the same as the later model Icoms. You can rig some of the manual switches to make it tune like the Icom would control it.
I had one that quit operating due to the CPU going South and a replacement is not available. If I remember correctly there is no tune button on the tuner itself. You could look up the sequence that the Icom uses. As I remember there is a difference in the IC-7000 and the earlier IC-706, but I have slept since then and can't be sure. |

Re: Z-817
开云体育Joe,The computer port on the Z-817 is just a pass-through for serial data from the radio to a PC. This way you can run CAT software on your PC and use the tuner at the same time. I don’t believe that the Z-817 is able to be controlled or configured by a PC directly. As far as CAT software for the FT-818, RT Systems has a pretty good reputation. CHIRP software (chirp.danplanet.com) is free has limited features. Dave K8DTP? Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose. On Feb 11, 2023, at 8:44 PM, Joe Fehrenbacher <n0pme1@...> wrote:

Re: LDG AT-1000ProII Autotuner to Yaesu FTDX101D
Many people say that you can’t interface the 101 with a Non Yaesu Tuner via its Tuner mini DIN Socket as Yaesu have used a different method of triggering a tune cycle on the Yaesu Tuners. ?I did have my AT-600PRO working using the tune button on the AT600PRO switching the 101 to TX mode. This was using a pre wired cable which used the D shape Linear port on the 101which was fine for running my 101mp with up to 200 watts. ?The cable came from Technofix UK on eBay. ?I purchased it made because I struggle to see to solder this D Type connectors. ?I’m guessing that as you have the AT1000PRO, you want to drive a Linear amplifier with your 101-D. ?I am now using a Acom 700 amplifier with my FTDX101MP and have connected that to the Linear port so the Acom can use BSD automatic band switching as I figured this was more important. ?Unfortunately this means that I have had to go back to operating my AT-600PRO manually. ?I have set my 101MP am transmit to limit to 10 watts so I key it up with a foot switch to allow me to initiate tuning on AT600PRO.
