Looking for Lagoon-Friendly Marina in FL 3
Hi All, We're looking for a Lagoon-friendly marina somewhere in mid or south Florida for the winter for our first trip south in our 380. Does anyone have any suggestions for decent places with availability? Alternatively, a private dock on a canal would also be very nice if somebody has a spot they aren't using. Thanks! ¡°Really Intelligent ¡° charging system 5
hi all, looking for some advice and thoughts please - I have a number of ways of charging the battery bank, solar panel, the engine alternator and shore power. Sailing along yesterday in the uk and it dawned on me that it would be really usefull if the charging system that i have would sense when the batteries are full and rather than reduce the charging ampage and ¡°dumping¡± the excess, this could be used to, for example, heat the hot water or .... clearly, i can do this manually, and maybe that is the answer - automation is not worth doing - but does anyone know how this could be done? thank you for youe thoughts. Bilge pumps on 440
After many years, I am wondering. Our 2006 440 #121 came with two bilge pumps in each hull. The diaphragm run dry pump is wired to the upper helm switch. No auto activator. Discharge is aft from the sugar scoops on outside of each hull. The other pump is a Rule type activated only by a flip up high water switch in the bottom of the bilge. Discharge is thru the Plastimo manual pumps located on the outside locker under the coach roof directly down in front of the life raft space. Regular bilge cleaning (we run a/c drip into the hulls) revealed the Plastimo configuration was blocking discharge (probably from lack of use) and I have bypassed that system. I installed anti siphon valves in the lines, as the lines held so much water back flowing into the bilge the pumps would never stop. The anti siphon valves work as planned. Question: Why not wire both pumps to the one auto float switch? They both could also be manually activated by the helm manual switch. Any insights would be appreciated. Also it would be great if all members would ID their boats and locations. Walt Kass 2006 440 #121 Joy Of Tahoe Tracys Landing, Maryland

Hatch measurement
I have a 2016 450s lagoon. I took the inside measurements to the hatches in the berths over the beds to have some security bars built. I am not currently at my boat and have lost the measurements. Was wondering if someone with a 450 might give them to me. Thanks Mike

110v 240v Electrial advice sought 18
Hi Lagoon community. Hoping someone can assist. I have a Lagoon 440 wired for 110volt complete with Onan 11kva genset, 80A Dolphin battery charger, Enag 115VAC 2000w inverter and 1050aH gel house bank. I live in Australia...240v country. Here is the challenge.... I have installed a 240v 50Hz washer (Note here that I probably would have spent more time trying to find a 110v version other than someone advised I could switch the genset between 110v and 240v at a flick of a switch...not possible) and I have considered converting the boat to 240v however all the ac units and water heater element are 110v. I have a paltry 240 watts solar on the coach roof and thinking of upping the ante on solar with some on the davits. I also want to install a water maker which is avail in 110 or 240v. To run my washer and future desal should I be looking at drawing from the house bank with a separate 240v inverter whilst the genset is on pumping 80watts in from the Dolphin charger or is there a means of coming straight from the genset delivering 110v 60Hz and converting that to 240v 50Hz. If a separate 240v inverter is required can anyone re commend a brand and model. The washer requires 1850w and the future desal 1600w continuous. Thanks in advance. Milan Blue Pearl

I know it is July, but winterizing... 5
A few questions on winterizing water tanks, and water tanks themselves. 1. Is there a special tool to open the inspection port on the water tank. This a few inch wide red threaded plug on my blue plastic tanks. It has an indented cross in it so you can put something in to turn it. I tried to make a bit to fit in there out of wood with some vice grips, only broke off the wood. Didn't budge the plug at all. Assuming some thread lock. How does one open this inspection port?!? 2. I normally empty the tanks then fill with pink antifreeze and run through. Then spend hours in the spring flushing out the antifreeze so my water tastes just OK. Many still won't drink it. I have a pretty good method of getting the pink stuff out, but the better method is not to put pink stuff in, but rather completely drain the tanks, then blow all the water out of the lines. Has anyone successfully done this on a lagoon that has multiple tanks, multiple faucets, an accumulator, and manifold. My water tanks are in the forward nacelle locker in front of the mast. Almost impossible to get to the main feed line down in there under the tank. Without being able to wet vac out the entire tank, I don't believe by running the water pumps you can really drain the tank so there is no water in tank to go back into the lines. Anyway, hope for someone to comment on if they have done this method of prepping the boat. For those where the boat never gets into freezing temps, keep smiling.

bottom paint removal questions lagoon 380 5
we are considering having the surface renewed on our year lagoon 380. St John Boat Company Jacksonville, Florida has invested in sponge blasting equipment which is 'greener' for the environment and gentler to the hull. two questions 1. They price on square footage, so what is the surface area of the painted surface of a lagoon 380's' bottom? 2. What should we be looking / asking for to help get a good estimate on a 18 year old boat? tim and tracey ramsey s/v folie a deux Lagoon 380 hull #47 year 2000

Need Help on Windlass Replacement - Lofrans Tigress vs. Quick Dylan 1700? 2
My 14 year old Leroy-Somers Windlass failed on my Lagoon L-440 (Hull #20; 2004 model year) and this 14 year old Leroy-Somers Windlass is "beyond repair." (Leroy-Somers was purchased by Emerson which discontinued this line of Windlass). To compound the problem, my original Leroy-Somers Windlass was a "horizontal model" and the "first" recommended replacement for my Leroy-Somers was the Quick Dylan 1700 - but this Windlass only comes as a "vertical model" and Multitech/Lagoon has suggested as a solution to purchase a "Lofrans-Tigress" Windlass which has been successfully installed on another older Lagoon L-44 and will work in the horizonta windlass configuration on my vessel. So - Question: Any thoughts out there on: *Horizontal vs. Vertical configuration of the Quick Dylan 1700 (my horizontal configuration won't enable the Quick to be successfully installed...so says Lagoon) *Lofrans Tigress: Anybody have any success with this brand? And any recommended dealer (Multitech doesn't carry the Lofran-Tigress)? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Scott Wallace Nefarious Lagoon L-440 Hull #20 Haleiwa, (Honolulu) Hawaii

Sheared off the end of our sail drive shift cable 6
Sheared off the end of our sail drive shift cable, there was a bit of thread left, so I was able to put it back together but it is now a little over 0.5" shorter than it once was. I am curious what the side effects might be using it until we can get a hold of replacement cable. This is on a 2007 Lagoon 380 S2 with a Volvo Penta 130S-B sail drive(D1-30 engines). Thanks, Brett

Does anyone know a source for the timer relay in the showers on L450 other than Lagoon 12
The timer relay's (3 of them on my owners model) turn on the shower sump pump. I have replaced them in the past with parts from Lagoon which are expensive, 56 Euro and take time to get. Anyone know a US source that can ship direct, I have spent several hours on-line searching and can't find a source ? Lagoon Part # 080156, mfr ETA # TR2--2E5-1-15S. In the past I have repaired them but this time the failure is not in the armature or the contacts, it engages but won't turn on the pump. I have swapped a working one in and the pump turns on so I suspect it's the timer chip or another electronic component. Pictures below.

Lagoon 43PC: Bilge Pump Dx? Location of water tank guage?
I bought my 2004 Lagoon 43PC in France and have found the owner's manual to be a rather limited resource, even with the use of a French to English web interpreter! Where are the float valves for the automatic bilge pumps located? How can I most easily test them? Are these pumps the same ones that are activated by the electronic switch on the helm and also by the DC electronics panel? Also, my water gauge sensor works for only one water tank--can someone tell me where to find these sensors so I can check them out? Thanks!

220v systems in the US 4
How well do used Lagoons purchased overseas function in the US? Are there lots of problems? I've heard it's dangerous, but have never heard about nor read an incident report. I understand the electrical difficulties, but how successfully have people navigated this without changing out wiring, etc?

First haul for bottom paint 3
After almost 2 years from launch its time to haul and bottom paint. I'm west coast US, so they don't really like copper paint. In fact the marinas will give priority to boats looking for slips if they don't have copper. Honestly, I am more concerned with getting the best value out it. Im ok with spending more now, if I can get extra time out of the application. There seems like there are a few new types coming out. Has anyone tried them? What is your current preference on brand? Also, what are you using for props and sail drives? Thanks, Stuart -- Stuart S/V Rum Away 2017 Lagoon 450S #33

USA shore power cables for Lagoon 8 #'s
We have a 2009 Lagoon 440 - 220 v & 30amps. We need to change our power line to suit US connectors. Is there a standard cable that we can use & where can we order it from or do we have to have one made?
