Re: Kennett Township fraud goes around the world
开云体育Stephen, I don’t know Leon Spencer. (I left K.S before you did.) But, I agree with him. The board should resign. Sloppy oversight.

Kennett Township fraud goes around the world
The Inquirer article (linked below in case you didn’t read it) came to me out here in flyover country via an old friend and shirttail cousin, John Gatti, who is now living in Cuenca, Ecuador. Does that make you feel under a spotlight? I had a couple of thoughts reading the piece. Having left my home town close to 50 years ago with many memories, both positive and not so positive, I was trying to recall the boundaries of Kennett Township. Then I read the name of the Supervisor. Why did the idea of a Scudder Stevens from Waspville strike me as somethings don’t change. Further on the article mentioned Leon Spencer. I’ve got to ask, was he right that a board of supervisors from KT are all Democrats? How is that possible? And most importantly, when I read that Leon was a former mayor, the first thought was wow, good for him. However, my hazy memory is not helping me to recall why I instantly recalled his name but not why he is familiar to me. He was a few years ahead of me in school, but that’s all I remember. Is there anyone in this group that can jog my brain to clear up this personal mystery?
Oh, and by the way, Merry Christmas to all! Thanks. |

Happy Thanksgiving 2019
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.??
And please note below and share our family site far and wide (I think I captured all names from the family history that Aunt Lonie researched and drafted): Whether your last name is Snow, Aby, Miles, Tullo, McDevitt, DiDavide, Ely, Woolward, Blittersdorf, Miller, Stapley, Huber, Brown, Pappas, Hynes, Hackette, Deppen, Pratola, Bruni, Zeisloft, Baily, Coutts, Sunshine, Buel, DiProspero, Andriole, Pannell, Ferrara, Stier, or Ruggieri, you share common ancestors:??Domenico Ruggieri and Rosina Rochetti. (See the wiki at the bottom of the left hand navigation for more history...a work in progress where many hands would make light work). Sally's update on the Millie family history gave me an idea. This new group has a wiki function and I've started to convert the family history doc into the wiki?/g/lafamigliaruggieri/wiki/home I'm thinking that we can make this a place where we capture stories and help us stay as connected as we can in this hectic world. I think building out our own family wikipedia is a better approach than just uploading files.? And maybe we could use this to answer questions that doctors ask like when they ask about your family's medical history of X? Maybe we could have a page where family members can share some history to help out someone down the road in the next generation or 2. Trying to make this group useful but I also understand need for privacy. Let me what you think!? I know there are other ideas...like which of our family members served in the military and saved the world single handedly. lol Did you know that Uncle Arch went to the Naval Academy and was recognized as an All American Soccer player in 1950? And that my Dad (Mimi, Jerry, Domenic) said he won the Battle of the Buldge and his main goal was to take a piss in the Rhine river. He got about 30 yards from it before a German sniper shot him in both legs. Our family has served and we should honor that. If you have a moment, take a look at the work in progress. Also, let me know if you have questions on how to use this wiki to add and/or edit something. Love Cousin Randy and happy thanksgiving |
Re: Happy Birthday Aunt Elaine
I seem to recall it was dad (Mimi) who worked to get Uncle Arch’s placque placed there. This may sound morbid but I remember dad saying once that the Navy needed time to honor Arch’s wishes to be buried at sea and it was extremely hard to keep the fact that his remains were at Kuzo’s for months from grandmom Angie.

开云体育Thanks, Paul. I love your trip down Ruggieri Lane. I recommend it to all who had a connection with 405 S. Union Street. I try to make the cemetery visit also. It amazes me how my father did all that at the age of 27. Hard work and good family. I too like the plaques at the bottom of the Ruggieri stone in the cemetery. It gives an accounting of ?my siblings. And there’s a space left for me - may it be empty for a long time.?Enjoy Turkey Day. Elaine

Re: Happy Birthday Aunt Elaine
开云体育Along with the late birthday greetings, as an FYI - I was in Kennett for a church viewing this AM and that started the journey. Lots of Deaths, baptisms, weddings and Ruggieri family events in that St Pat’s church. From there to 405 south union. Parked the car and walked the property. Drove around back into the Alley and walked the back side. The garage, once a barn, housed a horse that I remember Mom calling “Columbia” Can’t find anyone still alive that remembers the horse. From there to the cemetery. Great idea from someone to put the names of Ruggieris not buried there on bronze plaques with dates and where buried attached to the main stone. Congrats to whoever came up with that. Lonnie, Rosalie, Arch, Mim & Addie are in Bronze and of course Dino & Joy are there. Looks like 2 empty/vacant spaces left. Melania – the twin – was the 1st in 1925. Travelled from there to West State street to see the Bronze Historical Marker attached to the Mushroom Cap store building designated as the Archie Ruggierii building – 1923. As he was born in 1896 he was 27 when he bought the building. A real feat – How old was he before he could even speak English & at that time helping to support a Mother & Father, My mom was 13 and the twin – Aunt Millie – some strays and from all account God only knows who else. Also brothers Frank and Raymond (sometimes in , sometimes out) His wife Aunt Angie and how many children at that time. If he wasn’t nuts – he should have been! Happy thanksgiving and regards to all.? I’m only guessing here on your bounced email invites. I believe Sally responded to the first one on your list. I’ve no idea if Adam has deleted that address. The last two, again memory is spotty, belong(ed) to Paul and Mark. Did you send an invite to Andrea? It was my failure to get her enrolled that helped push us to this new platform.
