Re: Happy Birthday Aunt Elaine

I seem to recall it was dad (Mimi) who worked to get Uncle Arch¡¯s placque placed there. This may sound morbid but I remember dad saying once that the Navy needed time to honor Arch¡¯s wishes to be buried at sea and it was extremely hard to keep the fact that his remains were at Kuzo¡¯s for months from grandmom Angie.

Thanks, Paul. I love your trip down Ruggieri Lane. I recommend it to all who had a connection with 405 S. Union Street. I try to make the cemetery visit also. It amazes me how my father did all that at the age of 27. Hard work and good family. I too like the plaques at the bottom of the Ruggieri stone in the cemetery. It gives an accounting of ?my siblings. And there¡¯s a space left for me - may it be empty for a long time.?

Enjoy Turkey Day. Elaine

Along with the late birthday greetings, as an FYI - I was in Kennett for a church viewing this AM and that started the journey. Lots of Deaths, baptisms, weddings and Ruggieri family events in that St Pat¡¯s church. From there to 405 south union. Parked the car and walked the property. Drove around back into the Alley and walked the back side. The garage, once a barn, housed a horse that I remember Mom calling ¡° Columbia ¡± Can¡¯t find anyone still alive that remembers the horse. From there to the cemetery. Great idea from someone to put the names of Ruggieris not buried there on bronze plaques with dates and where buried attached to the main stone. Congrats to whoever came up with that. Lonnie, Rosalie, Arch, Mim & Addie are in Bronze and of course Dino & Joy are there. Looks like 2 empty/vacant spaces left.
