The City of Palmdale is accepting applications for stair murals to be installed at Pelona Vista Park. This exciting art initiative will transform the park’s two staircases leading to the north fields into visual expressions of the project’s themes of health, wellness, sportsmanship and community pride. With an all-inclusive budget of $10,500, the grant will cover all the necessary expenses, including the artist’s fee, paint supplies and equipment rentals. Included in the budget, the selected artist will receive a $450 stipend to create a color sketch or digital image of the proposed artwork to scale. Proposals must align with the project’s objectives, ensuring the artwork is family-friendly. As a result, Teatro Visión more than doubled its annual budget, programming, and audiences. She also offers grant writing and other non-profit consulting services to numerous community-focused arts nonprofits throughout the Bay Area and the state of California. Leigh is also a practicing theatrical designer whose work has been seen on stages throughout the Bay Area, Wisconsin, Colorado, New York City, and at the prestigious Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space and a cake artist who has appeared on multiple shows on the Food Network. She holds a BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA in Arts Administration and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Theater Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture and THE OFFICE Performing Arts + Film are excited to announce an open call for artists to apply to Artists At Work (AAW), a national workforce resilience program designed to support artists and their communities through artistic civic engagement.
