Job Description Development/Marketing Associate MARIKEL is a multi-faceted production and consulting company that produces filmed and literary products, place-based activations, festivals, installations and multicultural convenings across Greater Los Angeles.?? The company is presenting its flagship project, Los Angeles Carnival, as an economic development initiative under the banner LA Carnival on the Shaw in the Leimert Park/Crenshaw District. The project is sponsored by its nonprofit partner, International Eye LA.?? LA Carnival on the Shaw is presented in the structure of a Caribbean carnival that includes a carnival/parade and cultural festival, but infused with a mission to help revitalize businesses on Crenshaw, between the Expo/Obama Metro Station and Leimert Park. A major intention of? this project is to collaborate with community partners and work with businesses along the carnival/parade route to create artist-led activations that will revitalize their storefronts and infuse the area with creative energy building up to the LA28 World Games and beyond. The company is seeking a passionate, self-starter with a forward thinking, strong ‘can do’ approach to project development; and who has demonstrated experience in marketing, sales and sponsorship acquisition. This is a flexible part time position for an individual who can work independently within a team environment. Together, the team will develop an expansive network of multicultural collaborators, partners and contacts that will enable the company to accomplish its stated mission. Active connections within the entertainment, media production, special events and non-profit sectors are highly desired.? The ideal candidate will have strong professional integrity, excellent people engagement skills, attention to follow through and effective communication to accurately represent and articulate the goals of the initiative so as to maximize all assets and resources in accomplishing our goals.
