My LA-1K keeps tripping to stand-by when I drive it on SSB.
On CW, RTTY or FM/AM, I can key the amp with 60-80 watts drive and get full 1200 watts carrier out, no issue. Keys/Unkeys/ no issue.
However, when I operate SSB, if I drive it with more than 20-25 watts, the amp goes into standby. With only 20 watts drive I only get about 700-750 watts PEP output.
I tried adjusting the ALC, does not seem to make any difference what ALC setting I have.
Any suggestions when might be going on?
