I have also taken the plunge! Mine hasnt been powered up yet…working on my antenna, but I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas! I can hardly wait to make my first dx contact with my LA-1K and matching Auto tuner?

I am pleased as punch with my new LA-1K and HF-Auto. I hooked them up today and gave them a quick run through, made a couple of contacts, am super happy with the results!
I did a lot of prior research on available HF amplifiers, both in the new and used markets, and the LA-1K came out on top. I had narrowed my choices to solid-state amplifiers. Although tube amps are considered sturdy, they have a lot of negatives as well, compared to solid-state amps.
Operating the LA-1K is really dirt simple. I am sure someone out there will bemoan its simplicity, arguing for the old days, but not me. This amp is exactly what I want -an amplifier deliberately designed to be easy to operate.
