I an the owner of an LA-1K that had a similar issue you have experienced. As Ron WA2EIO just mentioned the RCA jacks are mounted (secured only via solder connections) to the circuit board. The RCA jacks are physically isolated from the rear panel. What happened on my LA-1K was the RCA cable connected to the LA-1K PTT was taut and when I went to replace the cable with a longer one, the RCA jack on the circuit board twisted and partially broke. This created an intermittent connection that took some time for me to debug. I took apart the LA-1K, and found the issue.? At first I had planned to replace the RCA jack. Once I saw the construction of the LA-1K, it was not worth the investment of my time to replace. Instead I fabricated a PTT cable using the DB-9 connector interface on the LA-1K, works great. I wish you the best with your LA-1K.

Great that you got it working!?? Enjoy the amp.
I seem to remember reading that the RCA jacks are board mounted, and not actually mounted to the back metal panel, so something might be intermittent.?? Keep it in mind if the gremlins return!
