Kent I know what?you mean. I do build a lot of stuff, but when it comes to things like a control cable I'd rather buy premade instead of trying to round up the individual parts needed to make one. Coax, I'd much rather make my own, just antennas a baluns, but for a lot of things my time is a lot more important to me.?

Thanks, Eric.? I figured it was
just a typo.
But ...
Without casting aspersions on you or anyone else, permit me a
reflection (not even close to a rant):
Buying "pre-made" seems to be everyone's easy-way-out these
days, which, of course, teaches nothing.?
What could be simpler than tracing a wire from a pin on one end
to the appropriate pin on the other end and installing an
appropriate plug according to a pin-out diagram?
Sadly and invariably, the "pre-maders" are Extra Class
licensees.
Sad.? Very sad.

That cable won't work at
all.?
Both jacks on the LA-1k are DB9 (DE9, if you prefer).?
Nine pins, not 15.
It WILL work if you cut the 15 pin plug off and install
a DB9 plug.
