Re: Copying geometry from one board to another
Look at the properties of the connectors on board that you have laid out. That will tell you the x and y values. Use those values to position the connectors on the other board, (just enter them into

Copying geometry from one board to another
Hi all, I have 2 boards with 2 pin headers and pin aockets, which should plug together. How can I transfer the position of the connectors from one layout to the other one? Last ressort would be to

Re: netclass issue with the kicad 7
Also... I have not idea what controller you use, but usually R2 (and R3) have capacitors connected in parallel. Check your calculations.

Good design practice - name critical nets with own name (e.g. FB)

Re: netclass issue with the kicad 7
Hi S¨¢ndor It seems like you have the resistors meet end-to-end and have the wire connect in the meeting point. I am not sure that works. What happens if you include a small piece of wire between the

netclass issue with the kicad 7
Hi, I have a problem. I have switched from kicad 6 to kicad 7. [image: image.png] I have discovered a problem with the netclass. In the schematic the kicad have add name to the track (NET-(U1-VOUT/FB)

Re: New member I need help to create a symbol
Make sure you are putting the pins the right way around. The circle goes to the outside of the box. So for pins on the left side of the box, set the orientation to "right". That is not intuitive to me

Re: New member I need help to create a symbol
Not quite out of the wood, though. I couldn't get the pin names to appear inside the symbol, even though I checked carefully that the option was ticked. I've overcome the problem by deleting the pin

Re: New member I need help to create a symbol
One thing that might cause that is the "snap grid". I.e. if you have a very large grid set, then you won't be able to move things in small increments. But it is definitely easy to move everything.

Re: New member I need help to create a symbol
One other point - if you create a new library from within the schematic editor, it will give you a choice of "Global" or "Project". If you choose "Global" it should again put the library into a path

Re: New member I need help to create a symbol
Yes - that doesn't make a lot of sense. As soon as you click "New Library" in the symbol editor, you should get a dialog to save it, and that dialog should show the path. I'll try to attach a screen

Re: New member I need help to create a symbol
Admin rights usually allow writing to app folders in Program files, but of course that's not guaranteed, and in any case is dangerous. But it's odd that I can create a library but not write to it!
