The screenshot came through.
Thank you. I have found the folder \Documents\KiCad\6.0. All
its sub-folders are empty.? I downloaded the Schematic Editor
6.0 English Documentation KiCad.htm,
but I didn't find any mention of a KiCad folder being in
Documents.? I may have missed a reference.

Yes -
that doesn't make a lot of sense.? As soon as you click "New
Library" in the symbol editor, you should get a dialog to save it,
and that dialog should show the path.? I'll try to attach a screen
shot of what you should see, but I don't know if groups.io allows
attachments.? We'll see.

Admin rights usually allow writing to app
folders in Program files, but of course that's not guaranteed,
and in any case is dangerous. But it's odd that I can create a
library but not write to it!

That is probably in a subfolder from
c:\Program Files\KiCad where you have no rights to write.

KiCad 6.0 on Windows 10. I didn't specify a path for saving,
I just added the new Library to the Library folder.

Which version of KiCad are you
using?? Also, is this on Windows, Linux, or Mac?
I am using Linux, and by default KiCad saves to
~/.local/kicad/7.0, but I can specify a different path if
I prefer.
