Once you have a (free) GitHub account, you can directly propose modifications?

At the bottom of every page is a link "View the history of this page and propose edits." Clicking on the link will take you to where you can propose changes when you are logged into your GitHub account

For larger changes, you can also pull down a complete copy of the docs, edit them on your local machine with your favorite editor, and the propose a “pull request” that will eventually get merged into the master copy:
