OperationsPro
A subset of JMRI which is used to prepare and print out manifests and/ or switch lists to assist in operating sessions of your model railroad.
In order to produce these you will need to enter information about your layout?
?
?
? --? ( a good read first)
?
After providing information about SETTINGS, LOCATIONS, CARS and LOCO you will be able to create? ROUTES and TRAINS which will be used to move cars around the layout.
?
SETTINGS:?
This is where you enter information about Operations and your layout
- Then name of your Railroad
- Scale of your layout
- Maximum length of trains to be run
- ?
?
?
?
LOCATIONS:
An area of the layout which will consist of industries which will require rolling stock to be serviced
A layout can have one or more locations.
? ? ? ? ? ?A Location can consist of any number of tracks (spurs), yards or interchanges?
? ? ? ? ? ? Each Location will require a unique name and the types of rolling stock which will be allowed into the location.? ? ??
? ? ? ? Each track, yard or interchange? will require a:
- unique name
- length (feet)
- types of rolling stock which can be served
- indication as to whether it is a spur, a yard or an Interchange
- ?
The types of rolling stock at each location or track can be changed at any time.
?
?
? ? ? ??
CARS:?
Details of each piece of equipment? on the layout; including?
- road number
- name
- colour
- length (in feet)
- type of car
- location and track where car exists currently on the layout (if known)
- current load in car (optional)
- ?
?
?
LOCOMOTIVES:?
Details of each locomotive on the layout
- road number
- name
- colour
- length (in feet)
- location and track where loco exists currently on the layout (if known)
- ?
?
?
ROUTES:?
Essentially a listing of the locations which a train will visit and the order in which the train will visit these locations
- requires a unique name
- the name of each location to be visited
- number of moves allowed at each location? --? each pick up or set out is one move
- whether a location will allow set outs or pick ups or both?
- ?
?
?
TRAINS:
Details of any train which will be run
- name of train
- Description of Train
- locomotive to be used (optional)
- type of cars to be serviced
- a Route for the train to use
- ?
?
SCHEDULES:
Allows you to determine the types and number of cars and loads which will be received by and shipped from any particular spur/track. You can also specify the destination of a type of car.
- Delay the schedules part until you have put in all your cars, locations, etc. and run many trains to see what the program can do.
?
?
Suggestions:
- Proceed slowly
- Enter a few details for each part of the program
- Try things out
- Add to the complexity as you go
- ?Save / Backup your work as you go
- Load the 'Demo Files' and try things out --?
