Jim,
You have a single track so you have to protect against the train in B1 moving into B2. To do what you want I think you¡¯d have to add directional logic. Others may know better.

Have tried jumpers 2-4 both ways (all on-all off), and when I go to add a locomotive and read from, i get the error 301-no locomotive detected.

What changed about 410 seconds after you started JMRI that allowed JMRI to
see the command station? It does 10 second cycles to try to talk to the
command station. It times out at 10 seconds.
