Been there, done that with multi-address accessory decoders. Commands overflow in decoders. Your analysis is basically correct. But I don't know how to do delays with JMRI. -- Dave in Australia

The COM port isn't bad according to the log you posted. You are just missing those jumpers. I suggest you forget about changing the address of the NCE USB. Take all jumpers off, change baud rate back

The * in V7.3.* is the jumpers. You have to put jumpers 2,3,4 onto the pin pairs of the NCE USB. See my earlier setup instructions. -- Dave in Australia
