Fresh install of JMRI and Java on new Mac (Sequoia). PanelPro won't start ("To use JMRI you need to install Java 11" dialog comes up)
Sorry to be "another one of those guys" who missed something obvious. I'm trying to get JMRI 10 running on a new Mac running Sequoia.

First I installed the Azul version 17 LTS JDK with FX. I downloaded the zip file and put the resulting unzipped folder in my home directory under ~/bin/java and renamed the java root folder zulu-17.fx. (I did this to facilitate later, ongoing java upgrades when/if necessary.)

After moving and renaming the directory, I went into my .zshrc file and set JAVA_HOME to /Users/<myUserName>/bin/java/zulu-17.fx and my PATH to $JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH. I then "source"d the .zshrc file and tried java --version and get:

OpenJDK Runtime Environment Zulu17.58+21-CA (build 17.0.15+6-LTS)

I keep looking over the JMRI installation pages and don't see anything that looks like a step I missed. Can someone tell me what I skipped or otherwise did wrong?

Well, I'm no expert, but a couple of things struck me.? You said in your fourth sentence that you were programming on the main.? In my mind, that's not a good idea when resetting a decoder.? I would recommend doing on a programming track.? I'm guessing that you weren't really 'programming on the main', as that is generally ops mode.? And the I don't think that the dcc standard allows reading from the decoder in ops mode.? But maybe Lenz is different.? As to the speed going wide open, that could easily happen if you changed CV29 back to what it once was as one setting in there turns off the use of the speed table which is likely the factory default.? Did you change CV1 to a value of 3?? That would have been the factory setting.? If you did so on the main, then having all the locos now on address 3 makes sense.

jython/FollowSE8c.py
It listens to LocoNet (i.e. the other computer¡¯s traffic) and sets a local virtual signal head to correspond to the actual SE8c signal head.

I am using signal masts but the issue is the signal mast that I want to repeat/mirror is running on a different computer and separate instance of JMRI.? The SignalMastRepeater requires this instance of JMRI/panel to have the original signal mast defined in order to configure a repeater.? Re: Engine and bell sounds work but no horn after decoder install
Hello Dan,
typically, for North American sound projects, the horn is not on sound slot 2 but on sound slot 3 or 4 (the one that's not the bell - I can't remember and projects.esu.eu doesn't load for me right now)
If I were in your shoes, I'd ask the sound project number from Tony's Train Xchange and look it up on projects.esu.eu to find the bulletin and list of functions to verify, and/or download the project and open it with LokProgrammer software if you have a Windows 7+ machine available. You don't need the LokProgrammer hardware to run the LokProgrammer software and it will show you more info on the sound slots than JMRI can.
Note: For sound, you don't need the Grade Crossing logical function. That's a modifier for the light outputs - if they are set to Ditchlight effect, they will blink as long as the Grade Crossing logical function is on.

Looking for ideas to mirror SE8C signals between two panels
I'm working on getting signals and CTC running on a layout that has three separate dispatch panels for different zones running using?PanelPro.? Where those zones meet I'm trying to mirror the state of some of the signals between the two panels.? This is to enable the dispatchers?to know when trains are cleared up to their zones and to also enable some CTC logic to block one dispatcher from routing a train into a block if the other dispatcher has someone cleared into the block from their direction.
The two dispatch panels are connected to a server using loconet over tcp so each one can see the activity on the loconet bus.
My first attempt was to just write logix to monitor for the turnout status changes that are used to control the SE8C and then set the appearance of a virtual signal head to match the state. Ex: IX:AUTO:0039C9 ?Aurora WEB Main2 Green ?

The panel could see the traffic when I monitored the loconet traffic: In this trace you see a 2 head signal where the aspect is changing from red over red -> yellow over red -> red over red.??
The problem with my logix is that the two turnouts that matter LT1552/LT1553 controlling the SE8C never actually change state in JMRI they are always in the thrown?state and just sent a message to 'Throw' which is then not triggering my logix as I expected it to.? I expected the 'Execute Actions whenever triggered' would mean that the logix would run everytime?the message to throw the turnout was sent but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do or is there something wrong with my logix that will fix this issue?

Several NMRA Divisions as well as OpSIG use Daylight Sales for apparel so I'd almost be certain that they could do something for JMRI. However I'd caution against a white shirt. They don't stay white for long. A heather gray could work though.
Except for a? possible set-up charge to create the logo (about $125-$150), here's some examples of what certain shirts/jackets would cost.??Adding a name to the front is an extra $7.50.?

Then added PSX/AIU for detection. After adding in the sensors and the corresponding panel lights.

the function of the panel has become very sluggish, might take 20-30 seconds to throw a turnout/crossover.?
