Re: Decoder pro cant read decoder
First no reading with POM. (Programming on Main)
Place your Lok on the programming track and do new decoder, followed by read type from decoder.
read the main page to get the Lok address. Find the pages with stuff you want to change and read those pages t00. (All is best if you have the time)
Save that as roster entry.
The you can go to POM and select that roster entry, which has the address and other data.
You can now program everything except the address with POM.

I (almost!) always use the default paths when installing software, so that's where Windows put them.

Re: migrating from RR&C Train Controller 5.5 B1
开云体育Dale, Just one comment, and that is that JMRI has full support for the new NMRA LCC standards if you have any interest in that. Getting LCC equipment to interface with Train Controller is convoluted at best, and AFAIK involves converting all messages into LocoNet format. I am not aware of any meaningful TC support for LCC command stations. (existing or future) As of our last conversations a year or so ago, the author of TC had no intention of upgrading TC so that it could support the larger address space used by LCC. (i.e. from 32 bit to 64 bit variables) As a proprietary commercial program, that could change at any
moment without notice. I am just commenting based on my own
experience. Dick :) On 3/5/2025 11:39 AM, Nigel Cliffe via

Peter, thanks for your quick answer.
?
I felt that SignalPilot was similar to Switchpilot, because when creating a new decoder project in Lokprogrammer, SignalPilot is the first selectable one in the Switchpilot tab of decoder selections.
?
I will try to have a look to some of the Switchpilot supported by DecoderPro to have an idea of how to define one for SignalPilot and, in the meantime, if any other colleague is building something specific for SignalPilot I would appreciate any idea of help for doing it.

Peter, "routes, trains, manifests, and operations" are parts of Operations, which is used to move cargo between locations, such as staging, yards and industries. 开云体育Ken, Isn't that a question of whenever he is using 64bit or 32bit Java? If Java is 64bit, I would assume JMRI to be in C:\Program Files\JMRI and if Java is 32bit, I would assume JMRI to be in C:\Program Files (x86)\JMRI. Daniel On 2025-03-06 15:52, Ken Cameron wrote:

The SignalPilot and SwitchPilot are two different things, I assume the SignalPilot can't use the SwitchPilot definition.
Since there is no definition in JMRI for the SignalPilot you will need to wait for someone to create one or create one yourself. -- Peter Ulvestad Linux Mint 22.1, JMRI 5.11.3plus, Java 21.0.5 JMRI Users Group Moderator ( /g/jmriusers ) JMRI Developers Group Moderator ( ) Tam Valley Group Moderator ( ) Sprog-DCC Group Moderator ( ) Edmonton Model Railroad Association ( ) |
Decoder pro cant read decoder
I have a Athern model big boy model 22900 dcc w sound #4005. I cant read the decoder with digitrax or decoder pro on programming track.
i would like to try on the main.
i put engine on mainline. First i cant choose mainline programming. So i put an engine i can read on the programming track ,read it, select main line programming. Shut off decoder pro. Turn on
?
I don’t know what decoder it is so i choose the decoder manually using sound train tsunami -steam and get many to choose from so i pick one at random to open a programming window and go to the motor page. I enter a long address and try writing. ?Get message it cant find a loco on the main but its there and power is on.
?
please tell me how to get this one cv changed on the decoder..
?
i cant read the decoder type when on the main
?
please list a procedure
?
also does anyone know what decoder is in this engine.
also same for challenger model 22923?

ESU 51840 SignalPilot
#definitions
Hi, I am a new user of DecoderPro, I have installed ? Wiundows 11? JMRI 5.10 and later on 5.11.3 installed Java 17 ?Using as central station an Intellibox I, COM=3, Loconet, 19.200bps ? I defined the CVs for a brand new SignalPilot using lokprogrammer software, exported as CSV and imported in DecoderPro as a Switchpilot. ? Started to program SignalPilot in the Programming track, everything goes OK till CV118, after that I get error message: ? Exception during CV write: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: “16.6.306” ? CV118 is just where the indexed CVs in the ESU decoder start. ? I looked for some other CVs till then and they seems to have been correctly programmed, but with this error DecoderPro hungs and the only way is to stop the OpenJava task via Task manager in Windows system. ? Is there any possibility to solve that error and to do the full SignalPilot programming? ? Thanks and regards. ? Javier |

Re: Upgrading

开云体育I see how it used to be in C:\Program Files\JMRI, which isn’t right. You now have the correct path of C:\Program Files (x86)\JMRI. As I understand it, the system expects things in the first path to be true 64bit programs and the second path being 32bit programs. Exactly how that works I’m not sure anymore. But just going with the default is the better path. ? It is behaving ok now? ? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team

I created the sensors by inputting 50:1 thru 50:14 and 51:1 thru 51:14 by selecting the first sensor and the clicking on: create 14 in the series. this created 28 sensors. I tied these to the associated blocks . When i manually set any of the sensors to active, ?the blocks display properly on the layout editor.?
All AIU ports 1 thru 14 on both AIUs are using BD20s for current detection. Note: when i utilize my NCE PowerCAB everything works perfectly. It’s only when i swap out the PowerCab with the PowerPro that i lose all the AIU reporting data. This proves to me the AIUs and BD20 are operating properly and that the problem lies in either the PowerPro sending AIU data or JMRI receiving data AIU data from a PowerPro unit.?
NCE BD20s on all ports.? Cheers Geo On Mar 5, 2025, at 20:56, Ken Cameron via groups.io <kcameron@...> wrote:

开云体育Georgia, ? Now you have a good version that should be able to read, we now can go deeper on how JMRI is or isn’t seeing the AIU. ? First question, does the ‘Show Cabs’ show the existence of the AIU? This is proving the address on the cab bus. ? Second question, in JMRI, when you created a sensor, which form of hardware address did you use: your calculated value or the form of cabid:pin#? The second form insures the right value for the sensor. ? Third, does the LED on each AIU pin show a change of dark to lit? ? 开云体育One idea I have to help figure this sort of thing out is to make a zip of the log directory in JMRI then upload it to the website files under ‘problems being worked on’ for us to review. ? Two things would come from that. First where you were working last.
