I improved the handling of the blocks section and track segments. I also cleaned up the instructions:

Bob,

I was able to get the browser view working. I had to change the style sheet href and disable cross-origin restrictions in the Safari Developer menu.

The XSLT appears to work OK for most things. The blocks section is not picking up the block user name or the assigned sensor. The layout editor track segment does not include block assignments. The layout turnout entry does include the first block name, but not the additional blocks for cross-overs.

I am thinking about creating a "Where Used" tool. This would replace the existing getTypeAndNames method in jmri.jmrit.beantable.Maintenance, currently accessed via the Logix Tools menu.

Sorry, I meant the various block, logic, etc, parts that live in a panel file. If that all displays nicely in a browser, then it would be easy to move around with ^F (or equivalent) to see what references a given name.

I have not noticed any issues with displaying the signaling aspect and appearance XML files using XSLT.

If I understood correctly, Scott was looking for a global cross-reference.

The "Tools >> Find Cross References" menu item in the Logix table does this but only for a specified item. It appears to have some issues with items that have the same user name in different classes.

Do the signaling parts of XML files display well when opening in a browser from the JMRI web server? (The file is translated via XSLT when that¡¯s done, but not all of the XSLT formatting is up to date)

The easiest method to find references is to search the xml file. The challenge is understanding the format of the file. Also, references are sometimes by system name and sometimes by user name.

Locked New JMRI Version breaks my panels #4-18

I just upgraded to the latest production release of JMRI and I'm getting errors when opening my panel file.

First I got an error that one of my sensors could not be created - "Could not create sensor System name LS0".? Then a second window popped up telling me "... BadSystemNameException: "LSResetButton" must be an integer after "LS"...."? I opened my sensor table and LS0 was gone and LSResetButton did not exist.? Guessing that the new version didn't like the zero, I edited the XML file, doing a search and replace for LS0, replacing it with LS930.? This seemed to work to solve that problem.

But then I received a series of warnings stating connectivities for various blocks in various panels are not compatible.? There were 11 of these warnings, and I have more that 11 blocks.? I have no idea what these warnings mean.

Please confirm that what I did to correct the first error was appropriate, and help with the correction of the block connectivity warnings.

Thanks

Locked Re: back up to another comuter #backup

Well I created a jmri folder in my Dropbox like I have done in the past for other files. Followed the instructions from the link to jmri help that was posted. Everything went fine. Roster was saved or moved too this location after the restart of jmri. When starting my operations program as I have always done. Everything is gone and the program acts like a new startup.

Soat this time my files are in jmri but the program is not following the path to find them.

Any ideas?

Cloud is good (I use Dropbox, it's an instant backup and keeps every version saved in the past 30 days) but shouldn't be your only backup. At the least, it should be a removable drive.

If you want more in-depth information about what is stored where, look at Help->Locations (in the menu bar) and this more detailed document:

Larry,

You are not limited to LocoNet, I just assumed because of you using Digitrax. Marc has suggested some LocoNet options.

At my club, we are using RR-Circuits Tower Controllers for LocoNet. I have IR detector sets wired directly into the TC. But this is an expensive option just for what you are looking to do.

If you really want to see all the older menu items, you start DecoderPro and then use the File->Open PanelPro Window menu item and all your old familiar menu items are there.

I'm away from a computer at present and can't remember the best way to make the change happen every time you start DecoderPro. Someone else may remember...

Nick,

Did you do a reindex of the roster? I'm away from JMRI right now but I believe it's under the 'File' menu option. That should clear it up.

I am using Digitrax DCS 100 system, Locobuffer USB?

What have I screwed up now ? The version I exported the roster from was Version 4.17.4 . I didn't see any bug reports on this but any help would be appreciated.

Locked JMRI Operations Question #operationspro

Greetings from NYC!

I'm fairly new to JMRI Operations (but not to Operations or Operations software) and I've hit a snag.
I'm setting up JMRI Operations for my club's first operating session in some time (Queens County Model Railroad Association). I've set up a car roster, locations and spurs, routes and trains. I've checked that the trains can handle the car types for those particular locations. When I create a turn (train from the yard to a location and back) the train? will only add cars to the train for empty spots at the location. For example, if a location has four spots and three of them are filled, the yard will only put one car on the train for that location, despite the fact that the train will pick up the cars in the other three spots before heading back to the yard. How can I change this?

Thank you in advance for any help I can get,

Steven Zaretsky
