May sound dumb? but, once done,? you are doing a " Write Changes on Sheet " or " Write full Sheet "? so it all gets written to the decoder? I assume ?

I've heard the same and you can see it sometimes on videos that prototype locos start slightly differently even the same type. So long as your locos don't fight each other with slipping wheels it is

I had a similar problem with Win 10 Pro after the last update and it
refused to do any further updates.
Having dealt with MS Help desk/chat the only solution found was to do a
clean install

I would add the prototype also knows to not mix certain locomotives. So your
roster may end up with the same issue of some can be put in a consist
