Billybob,

Thanks for that tidbit. I guess I've always just set the board address and then set the turnout addresses without reading them in between. I have a never-used, still-in-the-package DS64 that I'll have to try that on.

Hi Jim,

I know what the software does.?

As I said, I have the programmer and have had one since the first BLI Reading T1 came out in the early 2000's with the Loksound decoder. Naturally, it won't work without the hardware. The features that DecoderPro can't access are proprietary .

It was just a suggestion. I like the advances ESU has made since the early days when their information was in German on the software. I understand about the need to spend less but if it is that important to you to access those proprietary features, you make a choice.

I do a lot of programming for friends that do not want to purchase the hardware or don't "like" computers . Perhaps you might find someone near you to help you out.

Good Luck,
Nick

"I'm not a failure. I started at the bottom and I found it easily attainable. Life is too short to set unattainable goals"

Nick,

It does much more. D/L the LokProgrammer software. It wont work without the hardware, but you can see some of what it can do. You may need to D/L a sound project to use.
I won't have near enough Lok's to ever warrant $145 for a programmer.

Locked Test version 4.17.4 of JMRI/DecoderPro is available for download.

This is the next in a series of test releases that will culminate in a production release, hopefully in early December 2019.

If you are currently using JMRI 4.9.6 or earlier, we strongly recommend that you first update to JMRI 4.12 and make sure that's running OK before updating to this test release. There have been a number of changes in serial port support, panel file format and configuration options since those earlier releases, and moving to the stable JMRI 4.12 release is a good way to work through any possible problems.
<>

If you use JMRI on Linux or Mac and are updating from JMRI 4.7.3 or earlier, there¡¯s a necessary migration step. (Not needed on Windows) Please see the JMRI 4.12 release note for details: <>

For more information on the issues, new features and bug fixes in 4.17.4 please see the release note:

Everything works fine, but when I check the system status it gives me the correct version (3.8, as opposed to the 3.6 associated with the older command station) but gives the name of the command station as the previous LZV100. Probably a simple correction, right?
About all I can do is add LZV200 to the list ( which currently includes the LZ100 and LZV100 ). The LZV200 is reporting the same hardware type as the older models.

Not to mention Sound Project modification, adding/removing sounds, including user sounds, all with a proprietary file format and proprietary hardware (not DCC format data), simulation.

It's never going to be done by JMRI, even less without the proprietary LokProgrammer hardware.

Works.

And in the best possible, user controlled way. Invert the sensor you want to be inverted, leave the rest as is.

Code snippet, as simple as Ken wrote:
s = sensors.getByUserName( mesg )
? ? ? ? if s is None :
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? print mesg, " Not Available"
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? return 1
? ? ? ? if sensor_state == 0x80 :

Locked Re: Seeking advice on session planning using Operations and CATS

Thanks for the input Dave.? I do think automation will accomplish what I'm after, though I have yet to implement it.

We had a session yesterday where I ran through the lineup in advance in simulator mode and printed out all the manifests, then reset the layout to the pre-session state for the actual session.? During the session itself, I did not manage to keep up with the real-time builds very well (without automation) but since we had the paperwork in advance, it was not much of an issue.? I think I see how to get where I want to go though, and it seems like a fun journey.? :)

It seems to me that the functionality of the Fast Clock has somehow not made it into 4.17 either.? There is no activity in the traffic monitor and I would expect that it would show there regardless of baud rate issues.

Locked Re: Multiple Openlcb Conections

Dear All,

I gave up with this experiment for many reasons and its some time ago so the some of the details have slipped my mind.

As I recall, the configuration was a USB/CAN connection to a local segment and TCP/IP to a remote layout.? I was attempting to use the remote layout for checking compatability with later versions of software in my nodes.? I gave up for because the then version of JMRI would only send events to the first connection and the latency in the TCP/IP connection caused issues if the local CAN segment was disconnected.

Thanks to all your replies.? I was able as someone suggested, reset the decoder to factory settings.? It still would not run with either 3 or 201 as the address.? Checking around I found a broken motor wire hanging on by one strand.? It still would not run with address 3 but when I set the address to 201 it ran.? It does not light the headlamps but that could well be because of a previous owners crap solder job.? I plan to replace the lamps with 3mm LEDS.

Hi Again Steve.

All lights are setup on the Fast Clock.

In doing the programming I would like to request that:

1. The Time Entry Dialog be changed to have the time "roll over" when using the arrows.

2. It would be nice to have a total entry number at the bottom of the Lights Table.

3. I could use a printout of the total Lights Table including On and Off times. Output would be to a file like a .csv file for entry into a program like Excel. I find it very useful to be able to sort on times On and Off. This is a good check to make sure that a bunch of lights are not turning on at the exact same time.

??Might be late October before a video is made.
