Re: Add default consist to train #operationspro

Hi Norman,
?
You can have OperationsPro assign locomotives to your train after it departs staging.? You would use the locomotive change feature (Train build options) found under tools in the Edit Train window.
?
You ask the program to depart staging without locomotives, and then at a location in the train's route, add your consists.? Here's an example of where the train departs staging at Lakeview without locos, and then at Farmington, the program adds a 2 engine consist to the train.
?

Re: JMRI merchandise for donations

I would buy one to help support JMRI!

Add default consist to train #operationspro

Given the following, how would I assign a consist to a train?? I have perused the topics on this web site and also studied the Ops Pro manual.? I am hoping for an easy way to have a loco consist associated with a train, but not to a specific staging track.
?
My system is NCE.? Staging is off layout made up basically of 30 tracks (boxes) containing the rolling stock (not locos) for trains.? The locos are off layout in boxes, but not assigned to specific staging tracks.
?
Currently I have five trains.? I have five default loco consists for each train, and additional consists that could be substituted into those trains.? But again, none are assigned to staging tracks.??
?
All trains begin in staging.? Ops Pro generates a train by selecting a train, and selecting a staging track for that train to draw cars from.? Once Ops Pro sets up the manifest, I move the cars manually to a fiddle track, then move the locos to the fiddle track.??
?
I would like to have a default loco consist for each train.? But also I would like to optionally change to a different consist for that train.? Currently, I manually write the consist onto the Ops Pro generated manifest.? But it would be convenient to have the default consist as part of the manifest generated by Ops Pro.

The Pi password is rpI-jmri. All lower case APART from the I in rpi. Most often that¡¯s the issue

If you simply load his image to the SD card, then (from his web site):
?
Once you've assembled the hardware and installed the image, first connect your RPi to your layout via your system's USB or serial connector, then plug in the RPi's power adapter. You should see some LEDs on the RPi begin to blink, and shortly, using your wifi-capable phone, you'll see a WiFi network named "RPi-JMRI". Select it and enter "rpI-jmri" when prompted for the key (note that 3rd character is a capital "eye").
?
So, I'd suggest, as a test, loading his image to a fresh SD card, and don't make any changes at all.? Don't worry at this stage about shutdown switches or any other changes.? Then, power on the Pi - without connecting a LAN cable.? Give the Pi 30 seconds to a couple of minutes to start up.? At that point, you should be able to see a WiFi network called RPi-JMRI on your iPad.? If you can see that WiFi network, then connect your iPad to that network, using the password rpI-jmri, then you should be able to use WiThrottle (once the system is connected to the DCC-EX controller of course).? If that WiFi network doesn't show up, are you certain the WiFi chip on your 3B is functional?

My web browser is active but there's another panel on top of it.

I have the same issue with YouTube.
The YouTube Premium subscription gets around it.

You need to create a roster entry first, then from that entry, click on file followed by Import and LocSound CV list file.

Re: JMRI merchandise for donations

There is not a merchandise store nor to my knowledge has there ever been one. If it were to be done, a similar system the OpSIG does where you order from a specialty company directly so we don't need to manage or carry inventory.

That said, I would like a standardize JMRI business card for when I am manning NMRA booths at shows. I am frequently asked JMRI questions. I would be willing to have some made up for myself (they are inexpensive to have made) so would only need the standardized content for one or both sides. This would also be good for Ken Cameron when he does JMRI booths at shows.

Vinny,

You are welcome!

What do you mean with the panel not being active? Do you have the web browser active, but another JMRI panel on top of the other panel? Or do you mean that the web browser isn't active?

On my Android phone, I have the problem that when I play a Youtube video in the web browser, when I turn off the screen, the sound stops. I want to use Youtube to play some music for me while I have the screen turned off, but the phone (or Youtube) doesn't let me do that.

The Java 11 jre files I've been pointed to here, that I can find, are .zip or .tar.gz files.? They unzip but don't "install".? I found a Java 17 jre .pkg that installs (according to Terminal)
but Decoder Pro can't find it.? I went back to a Java 11 jdk .pkg that installs and Decoder Pro can find.

Hi
Is there a menu item in DecoderPro to import a LocSound file into DecoderPro?

Re: Audio Icon on Web Panel - Java

Thanks for hanging in there with me on this Daniel. I just tried your last suggestion.?No errors, no sound.
I tried making the yard scenes panel active (on top) on one of the tablets and that did nothing. The goal of this is to play the sound remotely on one of the tablets, so I'm assuming that since the yard scenes panel is loaded on all 4 tablets, the sound should play on all 4 tablets, correct?

JMRI merchandise for donations

As I get dressed for today's operations session. I put on my OpSIG shirt. And it made me realize that if I had one, I would also wear a JMRI shirt.
?
While I know it would not be the fashion statement of the year, I would still purchase and wear one, especially as a fundraiser to keep JMRI going.
?
Is there a JMRI merch store? Has this been tried in the past? Any chance that I could be wearing a JMRI t-shirt to my next ops session.
?
Thanks
