Re: Virtual sound setup

开云体育P.S. You can tell from the rack cutout at the top of each page that the person assigned the job of writing the complete LokPilot 5 Basic manual got lazy and decided to scan the instruction sheet that comes with the LP 5 Basic decoder. Probably did this in order to get something on the web site quickly, but then he/she has never gone back to finish the job and replace it with the complete manual. ? Re: DP timing out talking to Command Station
As a follow-up, I downloaded the driver file from your source (not RR-Circuits) and tried installing (installer in the Applications Folder). On the first attempt, despite allowing the permissions, the driver extensions didn't install. Deleted, restarted, tried again, failed. Third time...success. Correct USB option shows in Serial Port options, and it reads the engine on the track! Yay.
?
FWIW, yesterday I went through the JMRI debug page you cited and it was no help...
?
But, I'm up and running now, so it's back to the tutorials to remember how to use the programmer and other features!?

Thank you!

Re: NCE ProCab- Light-it as signal decoder - Simultaneous commands

1.? Using NCE
2.? I had 24 light-its in use.
?
Side note.? ?I use NCE illuminarors for structure lighting.? I have a mini panal that turns 20+ of them on simultaneously ech one is addressed individually in a long string of commands.? They all respond. |
Re: DP timing out talking to Command Station
Why don't I? ...because I don't know what that is or what it does?
?
When I type "ls -l /dev/cu*" in terminal it returns this:
crw-rw-rw-? 1 root? wheel? 0x9000005 May? 7 06:47 /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port crw-rw-rw-? 1 root? wheel? 0x9000001 May? 7 06:59 /dev/cu.debug-console crw-rw-rw-? 1 root? wheel? 0x9000003 May? 7 06:51 /dev/cu.wlan-debug ? That's half of the 6 options available in DP.? ? When I plug the LB-USB back in the same three show in the list. ? I've tried all three and still get the timeout error message... -alex- Alex M. Re: DP timing out talking to Command Station
I just bought a new MacMini M4 and did not have to install any drivers. Why don’t you unplug the USB loconet connection and in terminal, ls -l /dev/cu* to list and save that to compare against the list after plugging back in. Just select that in JMRI and you should be fine.

Re: DP timing out talking to Command Station
Dave-
I don't have mail set up on that computer (running JMRI) so it was easiest to take a screen shot to transfer it to my main computer.
?
As for the driver, I thought that might be an issue and went to RR-Circuits and downloaded that file. When I tried to install it I received an error that the file was not in the expected place (wanted to be in the Applications folder, but said it was somewhere else). And didn't appear to install.

Alex, Don't use screenshots for the System Console. ?Use the "Copy to clipboard" button and paste the text. ?Text is much easier to read. The selected device is not correct for the LocoBuffer-USB. I’ve also got the test track wired so that it is either the main or programming track (DPDT switch to select the output from the Zephyr). The Serial interface is a LocoBuffer-USB (v2.03). Re: How do I hook up a bar code reader to JMRI
开云体育Nick, ? Check in device manager when you plug it in. Some devices make multiple entries so they might be used multiple ways. If it creates a COM device (windows) then you have lots of options for how to deal with it. If not, then you have a bit more work with what library or driver you might need to make the connection. ? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team

Re: Virtual sound setup

开云体育Ted, ? It’s possible the LokProgrammer software is not 100% accurate. I now realize that inclusion of “Delay starting if drive sound is enabled (bit 2 of CV124)” makes no sense (but also does no harm) since the LokPilot can’t make use of it. That starting delay is tied into the prime mover startup sound sequence which depends on the sound project. The LokPilot has no way of knowing what sound project is in a LokSound 5 that might be consisted to it. ? The same thing shows up for LokPilot 5. ? I have JMRI 5.10 and find that “Prime Mover Startup Delay if Virtual Drive Sound Enabled “ shows up under “Advanced>Miscellaneous’ in the LokPilot 5 programmer. The associated value of CV252 is adjusted using the slider. CV252 is in the ‘CV’ sheet. Unfortunately, no separate DecoderPro programmer for LokPilot 5 Basic. ? Mark Granville |
