Locked MACOS 15 (Sequoia) JMRI program halt #mac-os

I use a Mac Mini M1 8GB for JMRI and LCC configuration. Five times in the past month, when using Layout Editor (the one with the grid panel) hiding a panel causes JMRI to halt with no keyboard or mouse response until I use F4 to get to the MACOS Force Quit menu option. Force Quit closes out JMRI, but of course recent edits are lost. Using JMRI 5.9.3, Azul 17, MACOS 15.0
?
Otherwise, I can hide and reopen a panel repeatedly without triggering a JMRI halt.
?
Unfortunately, this is a random, occasional occurrence with no error message I know how to look for.?I have tried waiting a minute or so, but JMRI seems to have halted? I am good at continually saving my work, so not too aggravating.
?
I thought it best to at least report this and would appreciate any suggestions on how to trace it.
?
Thanks,

Hello Mike,

I'm not sure if anyone in JMRI is using SPINS information to route cars.? SPINS was created as an aid to help crews spot cars correctly.? There is nothing that says you cannot use SPINS information to help JMRI route cars.? You would just use the SPINS data in place of the alphabet formatted information in labeling your spurs.? If you go that route please let us know how it works.? Thanks and take care.

Locked Dispatcher Scripting support #dispatcher #scripting

Hi there,
?
I have been using JMRI for a while but for the first time I am stuck with something. I am running some scripts but I think it yet not possible to do the following :
I use a python script to automate the creation of active train in the dispatcher using : jmri.jmrit.dispatcher.DispatcherFrame createActiveTrain setStarted
I run my trains using auto allocate and release of sections, with auto allocation to next safe section. However in some cases I would like to be able to force some more allocation as it is possible using the dispatcher button bellow, I would like to do so in a script. I found out that ? and ? are not available (private) may be I miss something?

With JMRI not running, delete that line instead of altering it.
It will be recreated when you start up JMRI again with that window in the default position.

Ron,

I tried it with locY + 20 pixel. That worked. Well, I tested on Windows 10 and I'm running JMRI 5.9.4. But I assume that it works on the RPi too. Quit JMRI before you edit the file.

Mike,

If the diagram of the location is present at the location (on the facia, or perhaps lighting valance), then IHMO, the SPINS number could easily be presented on the JMRI paperwork, and should offer little trouble for most folks to get a car spotted.
?
Phil Klein uses a modified version of this idea on his BNSF Seattle Sub layout...the example here is Black River, WA and the Selland Co. auto-ramp tracks, with the track numbers listed,
?
?
His track charts exist on small facia-mounted Kindle tablet JMRI panels, that also control the turnouts at the location.

Correct.? No "If-Then-Else" for the type field, sorry.?
?
One way to fake it is to adjust the loco's move count to bias assignment to a train. You will still need two types of locomotives, switcher and mainline.
?
You could set all of the mainline type locomotive move counts to say "1000" or larger.? For your local trains, enable both "types" of locos.? For your mainline trains, only enable "mainline type" locos.
?
Now the program for your locals will first use all of the "switchers", with low move counts, and then assign your main line locos after all switchers are used up.

Keith,

The only intermediate signals I see on your layout are EB10/WB11. ?Intermediate signals are automatic signals between control points.

I don't know what you mean by virtual signals. ?In any case, they behave like real signals. ?They are placed at portals, aka block boundaries. ?They have signal mast logic and are destinations for signal mast logic.

I don't know anything about warrant stopping logic.

All blocks and paths have lengths included, accurate to the nearest inch.? Loco's speed matched and limited to 50 MPH top speed.

Warrant 1 - I call this Cleaning train lap 1: Runs from its Storage siding in Buffalo to the Chicago Yard main, on the main only, no sidings are traversed.
Warrant 2 - Cleaning train Lap 2:? Runs from Chicago to Buffalo on the main, no sidings traversed, ends up on the Buffalo Yard Main line.
Warrant 3 - Cleaning train Lap 3:? Runs from Buffalo to Chicago, and travels through all of the passing sidings, ending up on the Chicago Yard Main Line.
Warrant 4 - Cleaning train Lap 4:? Runs from Chicago to Buffalo, again traversing the passing sidings, end in on the main in Buffalo Yard.
Warrant 5 - Cleaning train lap 5:? Runs from Buffalo main line to the storage siding for the cleaning train (this one is not completed yet)

Case #1 -?If i run a train via Warrants 1 or 2,? regardless of the direction (B to C, or C to B) without taking any passing sidings, the warrant works like i think it should, meaning the train respects the speed limits and restrictions quite nicely.? However, with Warrants 3 or 4, with a speed restriction on the sidings, the train will slow down to the required speed in the preceding block, which is a main line and should be traversed at "normal" speed.? Essentially what is happening is that the train is traveling the entire length of the layout at "medium" speed, or about 25 MPH.? I think the train should traverse the track between passing sidings at 'Normal" speed and only reduce the speed to traverse the turnouts leading into and out of the passing siding.? Some of my passing sidings are long (the shortest is 10') so I think the train speed should ramp up to normal on these sidings.? ?Is it fixable? If so, how do I fix this???
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? S1
Case #2.? When a train is enters a block, and the other end of the block has a turnout thrown against it, the train will slow to a stop at the entry end, about 25% of the way into the block, rather than travel the length of the block and stop short of the? signal.? Locked Locomotive assignment #operationspro

I'm probably in the minority, but I allow JMRI to assign locomotives to trains.? It gets all the locos moving around the layout.? Plus it helps with getting proper train lengths.
?
What I would like is a way to assign switchers to local trains, and mainline locos to through trains.? I know this can be done using the 'type', but the issue is a build will fail if there are no more of the 'type' of loco available.
?
I'd really like there to be an If-Then-Else feature so that IF the train is a local THEN use swithers ELSE use mainline locos, if there are no more switchers available (and vice versa).??
?
If this is already a feature, please let me know the proper way to set this up.
?
I know this is a 'first world' problem as I could manually assign locos, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
?
Thanks
