Re: 5.9.4 and withrottle

John,
If you want to try the fix before it's released, you can download a build here: -- Peter Ulvestad JMRI Users Group Moderator ( ) Tam Valley Group Moderator ( ) Sprog-DCC Group Moderator ( ) Edmonton Model Railroad Association ( ) |
Hi,
I just bought some DN147 series Digitrax decoders. DecoderPro was not able to identify this particular decoder when I put it in a loco.
?
My current version of DecoderPro 4.26 does not have any DN147 decoder definitions.
Is it possible to add these decoders into my system without updating everything ?
I've tried newer versions of DecoderPro and ended up deleting everything. There was a problem with my PR4 and Sprogg not being identified when plugged in.
?
I found some DMF files on Digitrax website and I was able to download them but I have no idea if this is what I need and what to do with them.
?
I'm using an older iMac and have Java version 8 which is all working happily. It seems updating Java to a newer version causes no end of problems.
?
I'm no computer expert so any advise in simple terms would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: 5.9.4 / WiThrottle problem
#withrottleserver
All, this fix is in the latest Development build, available here:
Also, a workaround to this issue is to disable Turnouts and Routes under Allowed Controls in WiThrottle Preferences. Useful if you don't use Turnouts or Routes on your WiThrottle client.
?
Sam, it would be helpful if you would give the Development build a try and advise results.

I haven’t tried it, but I think this will start the withrottle server:
import jmri jmri.jmrit.withrottle.WiThrottleCreationAction().actionPerformed(None) And this should start the regular web server: import jmri jmri.web.server.WebServerAction().actionPerformed(None) Bob On Sep 18, 2024, at 7:51?AM, Phil in gorgeous Young Harris via groups.io <philabernathy@...> wrote:— Bob Jacobsen rgj1927@... |

Just checked and its fine on 5.9.3 too.
So the Withrottle issue only occurs with 5.9.4

A single headed mast can only indicate speed. To be clear, the prototype _can_ use single-headed masts for many different things, beyond the "typical" use in ABS signal systems. Two modeled cases with which I am familiar, which existed in real life include: - Ann Arbor Railroad's color-light "train order signal" at Cadillac, MI, which shows that the train need not pick up orders at the station, or the need to pick-up one or more "train orders" before continuing, shown as a flashing-red or flashing-green lamp; or - C&O Clifton Forge Yard's color-light "scale movement" signal, which can give a "direction indication" - as in "back-up and re-weigh the last car". In general, a "signal" that looks like an ABS signal, but which must be interpreted in some other way, will be given a "different" aspect to allow crews to interpret it correctly, and/or the signal will be specificly "called out" in the "special instructions" of the Timetable, with interpretation instructions. JMRI's "SML" generally _does not_ directly apply to these "non-ABS" uses of single-headed signals, though. A JMRI User _could_ use a "signal mast" or a "signal head", _without SML_, with some other logic (Jython, Logix, etc) to model this. Regards, Billybob |

Mac OS 14.6.12
Java 11.0.13
?
For info. Upgrade from 5.9.2 to 5.9.4 caused Withrottle to stop connecting.
Reverted to 5.9.2 and Withrottle went back to normal

Re: Signal heads/ masts
Two and three head masts indicate speed and route at turnouts (particularly at the points) as in this interlocking ...
?
?
Approaching the frog may be a single head mast or dwarf if simple main or entry to main.
Track configuration beyond the turnout might be multiple head if there are other elements or routes.
One on my prototype had a double headed mast on simple entry to the main (at one time, there was a passenger station beyond).

How can I use Script or Sensor to start servers?
#webserver
#withrottleserver
In a panel, I have a momentary sensor to start the Web Server and the WiThrottle server.? I just cannot find a method or way to turn on those servers with either a script or LogixNG action.? I can do this in a profile when starting JMRI, but was hoping for a Panel trigger.
?
I browsed through the sample scripts in JMRI but nothing looked relevant.? I looked at each LogixNG action also, as well as Logix.
?
Is there a way to start the Web Server and WiThrottle servers with a sensor activation?
?
Thanks for any ideas!

A single headed mast can only indicate speed.
Depending upon the signal system selected, the selected system may have multiple mast types.
I use AAR-1946 with single head, two head, and three head searchlight masts.
I have a couple three head masts at an interlocking that indicate both speed and route aspects.

开云体育Terry, ? I've got three different NCE systems attached. Here is my Device Manager list: ? Here is what is what: ? You may also find that you might have to force remove the existing driver on the device and start over doing the driver install. I would do a reboot between each step like remove driver, reboot, install driver, reboot, check driver (Device Manager), install driver again if not looking good, reboot, etc… ? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team

Thank you for reporting this. It's probably a mistake in the decoder configuration - the ESU function output configuration is a lot and I'll need to spend some time on it to update JMRI to match all the options on all the outputs on all the decoders for the most recent firmwares (we're also still missing class light logic and dynamic sound).
