From your build report:

Find destinations for (ATSF 95561) type (Flatcar) load (E) at (Springfield Yard, B Yard T1 (T-567))
Route (T-567) id (98r8) no set outs at location (Shelbina)
Searching location (Colfax) route id (98r6) for possible destination
Destination (Colfax) does not service Westbound trains
Did not assign a destination for car (ATSF 95561)

You have a Westbound train (T-567) when it arrives at Colfax, and you've configured Colfax to not allow cars to be set out by a Westbound train.

See "Location Service Direction" in the help.

Hi Pete, I am so sorry for the confusion. I've uploaded what I believe are the correct Build Report and Manifest files for the Mina Turn. I did as you suggested and checked both East and West for the Dayton Transfer and it worked! AWESOME!

As for making a schedule to prevent cars from going directly from one industry to another, for now I think it best to keep things as they are until I get more proficient with the program. I can at least at this point build Trains for all four of my Trains so what I would like to do is print out a switchlist and run some Trains to see how it all works unless you feel I'm not there yet. Excited? Yes, very! But want to follow a sensible line of understanding and not get too far ahead of myself.

Thank You Pete for your patience and understanding

Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner I have tried the suggestions that were offered on the last build report. It looks like I am still getting the same issue.
so attached is a new build report. Hopefully this can shed some light on the problem.
This is for one train but I seem to be having the same issue with several different trains that I build.
The issue with this train is that it starts by coming off an interchange track with a train, then runs to our railroads main freight yard were it set outs the entire train, and is suppose to pick up a return train to take back to its home railroad. Currently it starts with the train gets to the yard set outs the entire train and then doesn't pick anything up from the assigned track in the yard. Instead it just sends the locomotive back engine light.

You are now well away from jmri, and I'd strongly advise you to join the wiring for dcc group (w4dccqa) in addition to this one.

Hi Perry,
Do your Routes have sensors selected for "Sensor that Activates when all Route Turnouts are correctly aligned (optional)". That is how the JMRI WiThrottle Server decides to send a state change.

The total pool track length in this case would be 135'.? The program would only use that amount of track no matter now many industries were using the same physical track.? In this case, no more than three 40' cars would be delivered by the program (44' x 3 = 132').? Without any "pool" restrictions, each of the industries could receive 1 to 3 cars.

Good morning Jeremy,
Understanding JMRI..............
There are some very good videos on learning JMRI at youtube.com
I would start with the videos by Larry Pucket AKA the DCC guy, His videos are very well done.
I would start with DecoderPro.....
DecoderPro is used to "program" the decoders in your Locomotives. As you may know decoders are tiny little computer boards
in your locomotive. There are these things called CV's which are like variables in your decoder that you can read and write (program) to make
configuration changes in your decoders.
Good luck.
Tim

I have one resistor per truck (47K) I use the inside axle, away from the coupler pocket for the reason that you describe. ?I like the surface mount resistors as they are very compact. ?I especially like how to do them on metal axles where they lay up on the insulator for the axle. ?The resistor is superglued in place and I use conductive paint to make the connection.

Concern for not using the outside axles for coverage at turnouts or blocks is not a concern for me as I don’t run trains that close together and I don’t want to think that I’m creating operation scenarios that are that tight. ?No way to run a railroad.

Apologies for not being strictly on JMRI discussion.

Funnily, when I edited the files after? I had saved them with .txt, it opened the GUI text editor. So, I thought it was all good.? However, I should have created the files in that text editor to start with!? Lesson learned.

Thanks for explaining how to get the icons onto the favourites. Perfect! Now, all I have to do is understand JMRI!!

Kind regards,

Tim, they didn't appear in the square of icons.

I agree with Dave and Robert about not using LibreOffice Writer, even with saving it as a .txt file. There must still be some non printing characters retained.

I downloaded "nano-editor" and after realising that it was so simple it needed running from the Command line, I created the two files. They are initially saved at "Home" (or in your working directory) and I then moved them to Desktop.

Once they are on the Desktop, they had to be enabled by setting "Enable Launching".

Is there a way of moving them to the Favourites bar? Drag and drop didn't work.

Once again, many thanks.

Jeremy

Cliff,
I have the code mostly ready, I'm trying to write up some "how to use" verbiage. I find that putting the system name info last, with a required delimiter, makes this much harder to explain.
I think the simplest solution is to put the SystemName first, followed by the (optional) User Name. This avoids the need for a delimiter, as I'll simply use the number to split the two. Examples might be:
Blocks:
124 Yard Track 1
105 Staging 1 Stop Block
Turnouts:
56 East:Main Crossover
98 Main:MB Samuel Distribution

Your thoughts?

Hi John,

The program allows you to use the same physical track for several industries.? Use the "Pool" feature to do this.

You would create a spur track for each of the industries that will use the team track. For example say you had three industries, you could create spurs with names like:

Team Track?-> Ryan's Rebar,
Team Track?-> Pete's Coal,
Team Track?-> John's Lumber

After creating the three tracks, you would "pool" them together.? See the help for more info. For example, given 5 users each expecting a single 40'car, but the physical team track is only 135' long.

Dan
What if the number of users is such that if each is given one 40' car, the sum of the pool would exceed the physical length of the team track? For example, given 5 users each expecting a single 40' car but the physical team track is only 135' long.? Would you set up the pool such that each of the five individual tracks might be 27' (135/5=27) but with no reserve? The five users would fight it out for the available space and depend on the railroad to figure it out?

Recheck your channel addresses. You might have a conflict with other devices.
Loconet? Your addresses may have a conflict within JMRI.
These conflicts could cause "momentary" appearance.

Can you verify on the module detection locally using DijiKeijs software?

If using Loconet, did you try "slow mode" communication? Check Loconet monitor for communication problems.

If using Railcom, check MULTI-sense settings.

I don't have DijiKeijs, so I can't play games with it.
Unfortunately, there is no DijiKeijs group I can find that you can consult.
