Locked Re: Soundtraxx Tsunami not recognized in version 5.3.4 #soundtraxx #tsunami

I have opened issue #11982 in JMRI's source repository to cover this problem.

Locked Re: What would it take to enable "read full page" with Programming on the main? (when capable). Anyone have thoughts about thish?

Then I wonder why all the "Read" buttons on the decoder page are grayed out. My JMRI is 5.3.3 on Windows 10 wiht Java 11.0.14. Anyone have an idea why that might be?

Locked Re: Figuring out where I need to place my "blocks" #blocks

I found out right away that I couldn't think of individual items like blocks, signaling, detection, and power feed.
They are all part of a system.

Start out with turnout protection.?
Signals are needed (either real or virtual) on each leg.
Signals reside (usually) at block boundaries.
Some of my turnout track work are close and I consider that set of turnouts as one structure. (think 3-way)
When you run automation, each turnout needs to be a block.
If you plan to detect the turnout, gap each leg.
I didn't burn a detector channel, so I simulated the turnout occupancy (it's tricky)
Sometimes, I seriously thought of detecting certain turnouts.
Generally, you'll assign a JMRI block to an electrical block and detect on the feed.

I use JMRI mast logic, but plan your signals now regardless of signal system you use.
For the time begin you and run automation without signals.
I ran my automation with virtual signals until I installed hardware.

Like carpentry - measure twice cut once - plan twice then build.

Locked Re: Figuring out where I need to place my "blocks" #blocks

Tim,

Since you plan to do signaling, I would recommend each turnout, or group of turnouts, has its own block. ?For example, a "group of turnouts" could be two turnouts acting as a 3-way turnout. ?Or an interlocking plant.

A signal protects a "point of conflict". ?That is normally a turnout or a level crossing. ?In JMRI, signal masts are placed at block boundaries. ?To fully protect a turnout, the block boundaries have to be at the throat and legs.

It is easier to work with too many blocks than not enough blocks.

Subject: [jmriusers] Figuring out where I need to place my "blocks"
Date: Monday, May 01, 2023 11:05 AM

Good morning,
I am in the planning stages of my layout. I am currently trying to figure out where I need to place my "blocks".
I am using all Digitrax hardware including a Digitrax BXP88 for power management and also block occupancy detection. I believe the BXP88
reports block occupancy status to LocoNet. I'm also using Peco ElectroFrog turnouts. I've watched some videos on youtube
and I'm thinking of setting up my Peco ElectroFrog turnouts so that each one of those turnouts is it's own individual block. I'm planning to use JMRI software
for running my layout and someday maybe CATS software. Someday I plan on adding signals to my layout. I believe there are a couple
of different ways of wiring up the Peco ElectroFrog turnouts. So should I plan on setting up my turnouts so that each one of them is it's own block?
What do you guys think? Is that the best plan?
Thanks,
Tim

Locked Re: Position and size of windows

The location and size are the most recent values when PanelPro is stopped.

If you want to use the "stored" values, go to "Preferences => Display" and enable "Use old location and size logic for editor panels".

What determines the position and size of windows in jmri? At some point the positions and sizes were recorded. Now no matter how much I reposition and resize windows, saving using "store all tablets content and panels", nothing changes and remains with some past definition

Dear testers,

I have just downloaded the current test version of JMRI as you can see by the title. ?I have had a look to see what ‘Cabs’ are on my NCE Powercab handset and can only set the current cab in use. ?Is it possible to show more cabs on a single handset please as I can RECALL upto 6, thank you.?

Kind regards

Using Roco I can read all / read sheet, but, I cannot read any indexed CV.

Douwe,

The send count option is only applicable to signal mast drivers that talk directly to the layout, such as the "DCC Signal Mast Decoder". ? ?

I followed this discussion and was triggered by the comment that you can set the number of 'send counts' to a mast.
I know you can set that for a turnout, but for a mast I haven't been able to find that setting anywhere.
What am I missing?

Thanks Tim.
My decoders are not locked.
I will lock them when I figure it out.

That way they are locked and will NOT accept any programming commands. When the time comes and you want to make programming changes

Since this is a decoder issue and not JMRI you should take your questions to the TCS group.

Locked TCS WOW 121 diesel decoder question #tcs

Hello group.
I have a question about this decoder. I have 2 GP38's that are consisted together. I have not run these 2 locos for a week or so.
--Today when I started to run this consist the locos ran for about 15 seconds and the one loco stopped moving. Before it stopped there was a beeping sound for about 5 seconds. When I turn the throttle to 0 and then turn the throttle up again the loco that beeps and stopped, now sounds like a brake release and starts moving again. Then about 15 seconds later it beeps and stops.
I use JMRI for programming and these two locos are programmed the same. They have been running together for 3 years.
Seems strange how this happened.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve,

I have a jumpstart already on the PN532 version, so yes, we can tackle the Ethernet/Serial version of that one next! :-)

Try only printing the 1st page when the printer popup window appears.? If that doesn't work, print to pdf, and only print the 1st page.

Locked Re: Jmri printing issue #operationspro

Thanks I went there but it won’t let me print just this page even though I select to print inly on this page. It will only print 16 pages, which includes all the train info for all trains listed. I just need the train list sheet.?

What am I missing?

Gentlemen,?
I wish to set up a team track.
this track will have multiple industries.?
my dilemma is, I wish to have each industry listed individually as far as set-out and pickups go.
example,?
team track is called Lakeville spur,?
industry is Ryan's Rebar,?
I would like the train Manifest to read something like flat 123, destination Lakeville spur, set-out Ryan's Rebar.?
how is the best way to go about this?
John?

I'll give that new version of the sketch a go when I get back from work tonight. If it is okay, which I'm sure it will be, then is it possible to modify it for the PN532 readers?
