Hi
See image.? How can we get JMRI to wrap text into perfectly
usable blank space on the tiles?? Also, why does the bottom line
of text below the tiles always get cut off, no matter how I
reshape the window?? I'm betting this is a Windows feature, but...

Hi Phil – and Bob… Awesome…and in light of the wonderful support from all involved, it seemed like a good time to pony up and send along my typical annual donation of $20.00! Thanks, everyone! Jim

Re: Arduino Ethernet CMRI code?
Peter U,
I wouldn't agree with you. There are number of systems that JMRI does interface with via Ethernet and that in turn might lead to coding example of use to the poster. Also since JMRI does support CMRI over Ethernet, JMRI could be the master to the slave CMRI nodes. Again good coding examples and maybe hints.

Now there's a $64,000 (or ?64,000) question!
EVERY decoder has a set of cvs (configuration
variables) that it uses to define how the decoder will
behave
Decoders can have as few as a dozen or so cvs, or as
many as a couple of thousand! The more complex the
decoder (whether it has sound or other actions) the more
cvs are needed to define them
Luckily most cvs are defined by the NMRA and always
mean the same thing. For example, cv1 is ALWAYS the
short address of a decoder. This common list is defined
here ->
BUT this does not tell you which decoder supports or
needs which cvs - that information is (or should be)
provided by the decoder manufacturer
Luckily (for most of us) the awesome people behind JMRI
have digested as much documentation as they can find and
have built DecoderPro. Using this tool, you can largely
forget about cvs, and who requires which ones. The
different panes in DecoderPro provide you easily
understandable translations of the different aspects of
decoder configuration and behind the scenes translate
that into the cvs needed and what values to set into
each one
Next time you are in DecoderPro, take a look at the
different panes there are for your chosen decoder.
Behind this facade it's all cvs!
SO, if you look in the NMRA list of cvs, you will see
that cvs 15 and 16 control decoder lock IN THOSE
DECODERS THAT SUPPORT DECODER LOCKING. Not all do
This is a LOT to digest. Many of us here are lucky in
that we learnt about cvs when there were less than a
dozen (and probably less than a dozen decoders too!!)

Now there's a $64,000 (or ?64,000) question!
EVERY decoder has a set of cvs (configuration variables) that it
uses to define how the decoder will behave
Decoders can have as few as a dozen or so cvs, or as many as a
couple of thousand! The more complex the decoder (whether it has
sound or other actions) the more cvs are needed to define them
Luckily most cvs are defined by the NMRA and always mean the same
thing. For example, cv1 is ALWAYS the short address of a decoder.
This common list is defined here ->
BUT this does not tell you which decoder supports or needs which
cvs - that information is (or should be) provided by the decoder
manufacturer
Luckily (for most of us) the awesome people behind JMRI have
digested as much documentation as they can find and have built
DecoderPro. Using this tool, you can largely forget about cvs, and
who requires which ones. The different panes in DecoderPro provide
you easily understandable translations of the different aspects of
decoder configuration and behind the scenes translate that into
the cvs needed and what values to set into each one
Next time you are in DecoderPro, take a look at the different
panes there are for your chosen decoder. Behind this facade it's
all cvs!
SO, if you look in the NMRA list of cvs, you will see that cvs 15
and 16 control decoder lock IN THOSE DECODERS THAT SUPPORT DECODER
LOCKING. Not all do
This is a LOT to digest. Many of us here are lucky in that we
learnt about cvs when there were less than a dozen (and probably
less than a dozen decoders too!!)

You might need to change the “normal

for the one at the “back”. It depends on how
it’s directional lights are configured?
Bear in mind though - if you have two

Re: Panel Pro Startup up problem & question ?
Tony,
The most common cause of this problem is loading a file, doing some stuff, doing a store. ?Then loading the file again without stopping and starting PanelPro.
In a typical document oriented application, opening a file replaces the existing one in the application memory. ?PanelPro is NOT document oriented. ?When a file is loaded, it is merged with whatever was previously loaded. ?This can result in duplicate panels.
A PanelPro session is simple.
- Start
- Load
- Store if needed, repeat if you want series to intermediate steps
- Quit
PanelPro does not update the layout config xml file. ?When a store occurs, the original file is moved to the "backupPanels" directory and the date and time are added to the file name. ?Then a new file is created.
You don't indicate what software was used to create your "control panel diagrams". ?Generally doing them manually within PanelPro works best.

Thank you.
That worked & I now get only my own layout panel.
Can I ask why that would have occurred ?
Can I also ask if its possible to import control panel diagrams that I have of my layout or do I have to do everything manually in Panel Pro ?

Arduino Ethernet CMRI code?
Hi,
Just wondered if anyone knew of, or had, any good ethernet code for CMRI on Arduino?
I'm going to start looking into it, but am very much a 'don't reinvent the wheel if you don't have to' type of programmer!
Thanks.

Re: Panel Pro Startup up problem & question ?
Dave.
Thank you. That worked & I now get only my own layout panel. Can I ask why that would have occurred ?
Can I also ask if its possible to import control panel diagrams that I have of my layout or do I have to do everything manually in Panel Pro ?
Regards. Tony.

Re: Panel Pro Startup up problem & question ?
Tony,
Select Yes, you need to do a store to update the file without the extra panels.

Dave.
I selected Open Editor & then used the Editor File menu to delete the panels until there were none left.
When I go to close Panel Pro I get a question ?
"Table and/or panel changes have been made since the last store.
Do you want to store all tables and panels?"
Should I say yes or no ?

Re: JMRI/SRCPD do not start connection
Hi Steve, Thx for answer. I already changed java version to downgrade to openjdk 11, but unfortunately it doesn't change absolutly nothing. Still the same error ... The problem seems to be here:
I still investigate ...
