Dropbox doesn't support ARM architecture. There are workarounds but nothing a simple as installing Dropbox.
Do a Google search for the workarounds.

Locked Lenz LZV200 v4 and 63 functions #lenz

I’m about to upgrade my Lenz LZV200 command station to their v4. One of the new features is support for functions up to F63

Is there anything I need to do to make JMRI and WiThrottle aware or will they automagically notice the increased function support?

Thanks

"Once the indicator light stayed yellow for a few moments indicating an update in progress but ultimately failed as well."

That's a bit of a clue. If you cannot clear/get to Com Port 5. Then something of over riding it. The fact that a update
is in progress could indicate that a process is hung up.

A firmware up date must complete so Windows may have the com port restricted so the DigiIPL process can complete.

That may be why the In use error happens.

Yes, I believe setting the Final Destination will work.? Unfortunately, since I no longer have schedules, I need to remove all my custom loads.? I will miss them.

For the Zimo MX series decoders, on the "Lights" pane there is a dropdown list to choose the "light effect generated"

One of the effects is "sparks with hevy braking" :(

Next time someone edits this file, could they please consider making it "heavy" please

If in your schedule you select a "Ship" load, then that overrides the RWE/RWL logic.? Leave "Ship" load blank if you want to use a car's RWE or RWL feature.

In the RWE/RWL fields for "Set Car" you can create and select any load names you want, and optionally where you want the cars to return to.? It you don't supply an address, then if you gave the car a custom load for RWE or RWL, only spurs with a schedule that are demanding that car type and load can be used.

You don't need to use schedules if your using the RWE or RWL feature and a custom load, but you do need to specify the location and track to return the car, which must be a spur.? Returning a car to a yard with a custom load means that the car can only go to a spur demanding a custom load, and that spur needs a schedule.

I tried re-booting several times but still cannot connect. It takes a few moments for the port to activate and appear in the pull-down menu of the DigiIPL? but I still get a com error. Once the indicator light stayed yellow for a few moments indicating an update in progress but ultimately failed as well.?

Do you think an old 4 port usb 2.0 hub/splitter might work?

Inobu: the lowest number com port I can get is com6 without changing it in the device manager.

Thanks,

Bob? ? ? ?

Locked JMRI / RFID / Ethernet #rfid

Hello,

?

Apologies – still fairly new to JMRI

?

I have some RFID readers working and have an Aurdino sketch set up and sending the readings to an MQTT broker (use MQTT for switching etc.) all working well! The query is two fold really.

?

  1. How do you use the MQTT Reporter topic in JMRI (e.g. can this be used for getting the RFID tokens in Reporters)
  2. Adding RFID shows you can use Ethernet but not sure if JMRI needs to connect to each of the readers or it opens the port and the readers send JMRI the packet.

?

Apologies for the questions – had a quick glimpse of the docs but can’t see the ethernet specific bits.

Thanks

Peter.

Locked Announcing MR SLAM Formatter version 1.13 #MRSLAMFormatter #operationspro

Version 1.13 of Model Railroad Switch List And Manifest Formatter (MR SLAM Formatter) is now available for free download from the website;

New Features in version 1.13
  • Added an option to choose between 1 and 5 blank lines between locations on manifests, see manual section VIII – AE. For switch lists also added this option to choose between 1 and 5 blank lines between trains, but only if the option for “one train per page” is deselected. See manual section VIII – AM.
  • Added an option to indent location comments by 0, 15, or 30 points (0, 0.21, or 0.42 inches). See manual section VIII – Y for more information.
  • In previous versions, if the sort by track option was selected, the program forced the car pick up, car move, and car set out messages to be printed, even if the option was deselected in the car preferences window. (Thanks to user Rick for pointing this out) With this version you can now use the sort by track option without printing the car pick up, set out, or move messages. In this scenario you can use the line colors to determine the movement type.
  • Revised coding to execute more efficiently and thus faster by avoiding the need of a “pre-run” of the data to obtain the number of pages in the document.
Bug Fixes in version 1.13
  • Fixed a bug that caused the car pick up or car move message to be printed even if the option was deselected. This bug didn’t effect the car set out message.

As always the program is free and doesn't require Excel or other expensive software, just Java and perhaps Adobe Acrobat Reader, both free programs.? It runs on both Mac and Windows, and probably Linux but I don't have a machine to test it.

?Azul does the trick. Remember
Keith , you must remove all versions of 8 or you will have a problem. Also check which version you need, there is a 32 bit version for 32 bit machines and a 64 bit version for those machines. I have the latest beta version on 5 different machines. I have one version on a 32 bit older machine that had a high quality display. It has only Java and dp on it. I use it for phone hookup to the layout. It’s as fast as some of my newer machines. It also can travel to the club and other layouts. I bring a spare router if needed.

Locked Re: RFID Connectivity #rfid

Now that things have quieted down. I can ask my newbi questions. I read somewhere in this forum that an arduino uno can run X number of readers. How many as I already have an uno collecting dust. A network connection shield is cheaper and easier then trying to run multiple USB connections that my computer has already run out of slots for.?

Not sure if it was this thread or another where someone said it was a easy matter to update trains in operations so that when any car from train X arrives ?at a location with a reader it will “move” the train in operations thus updating all the car locations for that train. And thus JMRI will move the train icon using X&Y coordinates in panel pro.?

Thanks Dan.? I thought about using custom car types as an alternative.? I still don't see how I could use Custom Loads.? I thought schedules were needed to swap or create those, and that would override my RWE/RWL logic.
