Locked Clocks - Questions

To Clock people,

I have tried to keep up with the clocks development but I got lost somewhere -

1. Is the new Clocks functionality in the current test release? If so, can I access the computer clock? Could it be in a REALTIME memory variable? I have need to put real time and fast time on the panel display.

2. Can I start a fast time clock based on the computer clock?

3. Is there a location which has instructions about How To on the above?

Thanks, Tim A

Hi Steve,

?????? I have uploaded the full file. I do not know about CAN simulation as I have not been involved with that.

?????? I have been adding lights that are used on the club's layout.

?????? Concerning the "Lights Start Operation" starting. I am currently that I am the only one doing the extensive testing of the Lights. I would ask that you go ahead and move this operation for the next test release.?? I can do one more test before we "freeze" things before our show.

I'll certainly take a look.

Is this reproducible in CAN Simulation?

It may( ?? ) be possible to delay the final "Light start operating" instruction until all Lights have been loaded from a panel file, however without hardware to test this against, I'm wary of making the change!

Locked Re: NX Routing

Bill,

Are you doing your testing using CAN Simulation?

I was able to re-create the problem using CAN simulation. When I activate a route, JMRI hangs waiting for a response from a CAN command.

If I move T1 and T2 to internal turnouts, the NX routing works as expected.

Sorry, but CAN issues are outside of my knowledge set. If someone does work on this, I can provide a stack trace.

Dave,

There are NO track ¡°icons" on a layout editor panel. ?Everything is a set of lines drawn between xy coordinates. ?A level crossing has two Ines. ?A regular turnout has at least 5 lines, one of which is not drawn depending on turnout position. ?Cross overs and slips have many more lines.

By moving the endpoints of the implied icon, an infinite variety can be created.

Yes, I did check that F8 was correct.? Program manager shows it and, more importantly, the loco slows when F8 is activated.? I'll switch all to F3 as a test though.

BTY HOW DOES ONE GET THE NICE VERTICAL BAR ON CUT/PASTE QUOTES? I DID THIS BY AN UNKNOWN ACCIDENT

"(BTW, in one of my last post, I gave you a false recommendation for engine gain. It's not <gain> but <engine-gain>."

Interesting, for as far as I can tell I have not had?<engine-gain>0.8</engine-gain> in the config file.? I have now put it in and I think it has made throttle "sliding" harder.
What does it do?

"Thanks for the console log. I don't see a VSD sound crash there. But the LocoNet "WARN - slot 1 address 5514 is already in-use" could be a clue for a VSD issue. I assume that there isn't an engine sound at all. Maybe VSD could not listen to the throttle with address 5514. Wasn't there a steal question? Probably not, because of the headless mode"

Yes, I sometimes get the steal question on my digitrax throttle when also running JMRI.? I forget to use the loconet "monitor slots" to clear my DB150.? I have played with the decel triggers; 12 seems to be working for me on all throttles (JMRI, Digitrax, and Enigine Driver); see below?

Hi all,
I (and others) have this issue with various digitrax decoders. (DH123D, DH126D, DH166MT, DH126MT, DH165LO, DN136D, DZ146PS)
When running them on a uhlenbrock intellibox command station the sequence of event is as follows:
Firstly the light starts to blink, then goes out completely.
Then all fine motor speed control is lost.?
A decoder reset seems to fix the lighting issue but the fine motor speed control remains useless. (That is why I am thinking that the firmware in the decoder has been corrupted by the command station)?
Exactly the same thing happens regardless of the command station or decoder settings. It seems to me that all digitrax decoders are in no way compatible with a uhlenbrock intellibox command station.

Locked Re: Feedback to Panel for NCE throttle commands

One other little gremlin I have noticed when using Monitoring, is that an external poll of the switch status may cause an incorrect state to be displayed on a Layout Editor Panel for turnouts marked as INVERTED in the Turnout table.

I use an RRCirKits TC64 on LocoNet to control switch machines. When I enable track power on the DCS100 it does a poll of the known switches on LocoNet. The TC64 responds with the switch statuses. When PanelPro sees these responses on the LocoNet it updates the display on my Layout Editor Panel. However for any turnouts which have INVERTED set in the turnout table now display the opposite to how they set are on the layout. I think the INVERTED flag is not being applied to the response coming back from LocoNet. I cannot remember if it also happened when the handheld throttles were used to throw Inverted switches. This was not important until I started running auto trains when now the state JMRI thinks the switches are in has became critical. This may be a BUG in JMRI or could be due to my idiosyncratic system.

I avoided the problem by inverting the turnouts in the TC64 rather than the JMRI turnout table.

MacOS, DCS100, TC64, JMRI 4.15.x, and 4.17.1-4

Conrad,

A left mouse click above the slider handle should increase the speed by one speed step, a click below should decrease the speed by one speed step.

You can save your throttle layout, see the File menu.

Your triggers are set up fine. HALF_SPEED is the correct name. The trick on HALF_SPEED is, that your lokpilot nano must be assigned to F8 as well (default is F3). You could also try assigning F3 in config.xml.

(BTW, in one of my last post, I gave you a false recommendation for engine gain. It's not <gain> but <engine-gain>. Sorry! The documentation on is correct)

Thanks for the console log. Probably not, because of the headless mode.

On the console log output format. Especially for the video I changed the format.

Klaus,
I got JMRI throttle coasting to work.? Page down and left mouse/page down did not work.? BUT, I stumbled on right mouse, saw properties and a check box for
"track slider in real time".? It works and makes some sort of sense.? One problem is that I have to access this property every time I open a throttle.
My decoder is a lokpilot nano that has a functioning "shunt speed" however no success with VSD.? COAST, however works fine.
Here are my triggers:
<trigger name="HALF_SPEED" type="THROTTLE">
<event-name>F8</event-name>
<target-name>ENGINE</target-name>
<action>NOTHING</action>
</trigger>
<trigger name="COAST" type="THROTTLE">
<event-name>F9</event-name>
<target-name>ENGINE</target-name>
<action>NOTHING</action>
</trigger>
and variations of the trigger name -? "ENGINE_HALF_SPEED", "ENGINE_HALFSPEED" and "HALFSPEED" alone
For the Engine Driver Wi-throttle things are better.? It no longer locks up, function F9 (COAST) works and with a reasonable sliding decrease in throttle I can get
it to coast.? It's a little flaky.? Slider action has to be just so to make it coast - too slow and just a normal slow down, too fast and skipping.? No lockup though.
Think I'll work on your suggestion to increase the value <decel-trigger-rpms>8</decel-trigger-rpms>.
Here's my console log file (doesn't seem to have any throttle info).? My console info does not look like yours on

Locked Re: Digitrax decoder firmware

Hi all,
I (and others) have this issue with various digitrax decoders.

Please ?explain this new app and how I can get it. Perhaps it will solve my problem as well. I am referring to to the issues I raised a day or two ago about repeated loosing connection and reconnecting my android telephone with my router while trying to run trains.?
Thank you. Frank in Houston?

Hello recently when I want to edit the ¡°build report¡± after building a train, I can no longer find the ¡°find¡± option which normally appears at the top of the build report. This option highlights the item in the entire build report that I want to investigate. For example, car number or location or other items. ??Has something changed or am I failing to do some thing? ?I am using the latest release 4-17-4 and my computer is an IMac. Thank you.
