I want multiple throttles on the scree on a vista machine running JMRI.? When I switch from one to the other, the first gets minimized so I cant see it.? What do I need to do?

Are you talking about multiple throttles on a machine running JMRI? JMRI can have as many Throttle windows as you want! I've had more than 50 on the screen at one time.

Or are you talking about a mobile device running EngineDriver or WiThrottle? That is beyond my knowledge, and will leave that to those who have direct knowledge.

Yes... I've seen JMRI on a central control station have 10 throttles opened so one "engineer" was controlling 10 trains parading around a large club layout.

Spotters with FRS radios would call in to speed up or slow down a given train... Odd to my taste, but an example of a lot of open throttles.

I'm a beginner building a testing bench to learn and test JMRI functionalities, how it works with DCC++ over and Arduino Mega, testing better placement for sensors and signals, … prior to build the complete layout.

The enviroment I'm working on is:

PC: ASUS Intel Core i3-7100 CPU @ 3.90GHz 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Home, Java 1.8,0_181-b13

JMRI - version 4.12 + Rb6a9bb1 (previously 4.10 with the same trouble)

Arduino Mega - as base station comander (trouble also occurs with System Connection DCC++ Simulator)

Arduino Nano - as decoder for Accessories (trouble also occurs with System Connection DCC++ Simulator)

3333 and 2222 represent 2 diferent blocks for an X-Over (I'm not sure if it is the correct ascii art representation)

All seems to works fine except when turnout and X-over are thrown, in wich case the left double head mast shows clear aspect for straight route and stop aspect for diverging route.

I played with the layout uploaded by Dave Sand last May 29, removing elements and adding three end bumpers, making both layouts identical, and surprise …. it works completely well!!. So, I'm doing somthing wrong.

I know, using Dave Sand's file the problen is over, but I would like to use my own system and user names, and over all, I would like to know what I'm doing wrong.

Hi, hope someone can help me. I'm using a SPROG3 and JMRI 4:12. I guess I must have changed something but don't know what. The symptom is than as I increase the throttle using the slider the loco motor speed increases but at around 30% the motor cuts out. The same thing happens in PanelPro and DecoderPro and I get the same effect on both Windows7 and Linux (Raspberry Pi)

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks for this. But if I have to use a script for any of it, I could use one for the whole thing, i.e. wait on the sensor 'Input OK' and set the Block value directly (plus other stuff that has to ben done). I? just thought that if I could use Logix, it would save a script...

I am trying to set up operations and every time I set a?location instead of showing US freight cars despite setting HO it shows British waggons how do I change this to US freight cars etc

My usual suggestion is to always try more than one browser. Some may work
better than others. Next would be download using a different computer then
walk it over (mem stick). Last would be disable the anti-virus in the
browser and try again.

I am using a computer with widows 7. I have installed and it is working well JMRI ?production release 4.8. I would like to install 4.12 update. Every time I try install the update it downloads about 30% and then stops. Any suggestions?

As Dave Heap said:? reboot computer; download and install latest SiLabs drivers; use Windows Device Manager to check port and port number; update port number in JMRI.

Windows is notorious for scrambling drivers when it is updated.

If JMRI is not starting your installation may be corrupt. De-install all versions of JMRI; Download latest version of JMRI; reboot computer install latest version of JMRI.

COM Ports disappearing is not a JMRI problem and no amount of reinstalling JMRI will help one iota.

Unless your USB hardware has failed totally, Windows has either moved the COM port number for your SiLabs (NCE USB) or is failing to load the existing driver.

You need to go to Windows Device Manager (nothing to do with JMRI) and watch the screen while plugging/ unplugging the NCE USB. If no COM port is appearing/disappearing as you do so (or if something appears but it has error symbols) you need to make sure you have the latest Windows 10 SiLabs driver from the following site and install that one:

Debug - no errors reported.
As you suggest the Route names needed changing which I did with several careful Search and Replaces in the XML editor.
