Locked Re: Loco position display

Dave,

If your track plan was built using the Layout Editor, yes.

If it was created using Control Panel Editor or Panel Editor, someone else will need to provide the answer.

That update was a problem for most of us.? Is there a NCE driver you need to download again?? Mine is a PR3 and I had to download the Digitrax driver over again.

Mark,
If you are not already in the Engine Driver beta program...
Go to the Play Store, find the Engine Driver app page, you will see link/button to join the beta program. Just click on that and follow any instructions.

It sometimes takes a few minutes to activate..

I am pretty sure that the beta version will automatically install after a little while, but you may need to click on the install /update button.

Thanks Peter. How do I get the Beta version? I¡¯ll try it out. If it works as described, it does directly address the original problem.

Mark,?
Steve has just released a beta version of Engine Driver which includes two new preferences which can force ED to treat F1 and F2 as sound regardless of their labels.
?

I would be interested to see if that addresses your original problem

I can program other locos, even Bachmann non-sound.? The 2-8-0 I can program on the main using operations program.? I was also able to change settings on a Bachmann 2-8-4 w/ sound, but I did get this error during/after each change writing.? Yes, I was able to program this loco, not sure what would have happened for it to fail.? Thanks.

The message is telling you the problem:? The command station can¡¯t hear the locomotive decoder replying that it¡¯s taken the programming operation.

It¡¯s _NOT_ a JMRI problem.? You¡¯ll see a similar error if you program with a Digitrax throttle, without JMRI even running.

Can you program other, known-good locomotives? If not, check the programming track wiring.

Were you ever able to program this locomotive? If so, something in the locomotive has failed, either the decoder or it¡¯s wiring, or perhaps it¡¯s contact with the programming track.? Try jumpering directly to the decoder connections and see if that works.

Locked WIN 10 - Panel and Decoder Pro were working... not anymore

Newbie here... Sorry. I have a WIN 10 laptop that was running all JMRI stuff just fine with NCE USB interface (both power cab (program track) and SB5 (n scale layout)). Stopped working after a recent WIN 10 update... COM PORT 3 not found... no COM Ports found! I have done everything reinstalled twice, and not I cannot even get JMRI to start. I checked JAVA (have 1.8). I cna't figure this one out.

Any suggestions?

Locked Re: Logix Action to set Block Value doesn't work?

Dave,

The OBlocks class inherits from the Block class, but I am not aware of any relationship between them.

You could create a script that watches memory variables and copies the content to the block value when a value changes.

I have thought about adding Block support to Logix. Maybe its time to investigate the idea.

Off topic: Is there any reason to not use layout editor based tools for signaling? It does not solve the block value issue but it eliminates a parallel block/path system.

Ken, nothing is recorded in the System Console when I change the value of 'Input OK'.

Dave, I am aware that Block and OBlocks are not the same thing, and I do have both with the name 'Platform 1'.
I have my blocks on a Layout Editor Panel, but I also use OBlocks to define paths, signals, etc.

I assumed that the Blocks and OBlocks were somehow linked (if they had the same name), and that the Value referred to the Block - if it belongs to the OBlock, where is it visible? Nothing in Tools/Tables/Occupancy Block refers to a Value.

If thi is not correct, is there any way of changing a block value via Logix?

My 2 cents is that going back and forth between versions just mucks things up and makes it difficult to help you.?

Locked Re: JMRI 4.13.2 and Webserver

Thanks Steve.

Actually the "/frame" was already enabled, so once I switched to that, it worked.

The tablet we use is an old "noname" from Fry's that was cheap (and we have a feeling "used" though bought new - we found a flash card in the memory port, empty, but still, it should not had been there, so we kept it).

The Android OS cannot be updated, so the browser is what it is. But, I created a bookmark, and all I have to change then is just the IP if the computer gets a new IP on restart.?

We are considering a new tablet, or maybe an actual hardware tower, for this panel. The new tablet I am sure will be able to use "/panel".

If you have a way to measure DCC voltage at the prog track rails (RRampmeter), what is that voltage? I use a Sprog 3 and its output is just over 14 Volts DCCand that seems to work with most decoders.
