Re: Inline LogixNG add block item different on two systems

The dialog is created in this class: jmri.jmrit.logixng.tools.swing.TreeEditor In the method makeAddEditFrame() Each LogixNG action/expression has its own class for creating a panel to configure that class, for example: jmri.jmrit.logixng.actions.swing.ActionBlockSwing To test it, add a LogixNG, add a ConditionalNG and add a Block action. The Block action is not the only panel that are very wide, which is why it's better to fix the problem in the class TreeEditor. Thank you for looking into this! I have never seen this error before.?
I won't be able to do anything till next week.?
Does this train have a different train name from the others?

Tinkering with this window back on my Linux machine, I see that if I reduce the window width, the third and second entry fields just disappear as the window shrinks with no way to access them or any indication that they even exist. This is not a good user interface. A scroll bar should appear.

Re: DecoderPro no loco roster
#roster
OK,
This is what I have done today. I have windows 10 and my computer is set for automatic updates. I don't really use this laptop for anything else but JMRI and because of JMRI updates it is on the Wi-Fi internet. So today I decided to restore the computer. When I went into the system restore, I was thinking of going back several weeks hoping that I would get to where there were no issues. To my Suprise the restore went back to the 9th, the day all these issues started. The message said that Microsoft updated a system program on that day, and it automatically created a restore point before the update. I did not realize there was an update done. After restoring the system to that date all my JMRI issues were gone. My roster is back in Decoder Pro and everything in Operations Pro is back.?
?
So. this whole event of problems stemmed from windows updating not JMRI or me.?

Re: Inline LogixNG add block item different on two systems

Well here's the deal. I cannot increase the width of the window. I'm not sure why. This window seems to be excessively wide to begin with and could have been designed in a more compact configuration. But be that as it may I should be able to make the window wider. There are no scroll bars either. The possible clue here is that the monitor that I am working with at the museum is configured in portrait mode, i.e. taller than it is wide, in order to fit into a tight space. I can't even think of a workaround. It is Windows 11.

Re: DecoderPro Opens every time as a new install
Thanks to everyone for their advice and responses.? Many definitely suggested the issue might be windows and it was.? Despite every attempt to solve this windows issue of creating a guest account even though all the actual genuine account information the PC could not be corrected.? We purchased a new PC and it functions flawlessly with JMRI Decoder Pro.? I also installed AZUL Java 17 in setting up the new PC. Thanks again to everyone that helped me with this issue. The signal speeds if using SML come from the Warrents tab in Edit->preferences.
If using speedprofiling then make sure you are using the correct scale.
If not using speed profile, you should make the maxlinespeed as 100. That would normally be the fasted speed of any block. That is the base speed for? the layout by throttle setting %.
For SML "Basic Model Signals"? to get the top speed, green signal just past and green signal ahead, 4 sections clear sections ahead.
Using "No Signals" you would only need to allocated two empty ahead,? it only uses "Normal" and "Medium" and? zero. Set all block speeds to "Normal" and make "Normal" = 100.

Re: New laptop … advice needed, S mode?
开云体育You may not be able to install JMRIWindows in S mode is a streamlined version of Windows designed for security and performance, restricting app installation to the Microsoft Store and requiring Microsoft Edge for browsing. Re: New laptop … advice needed, S mode?
开云体育I didn’t know about S mode either, so I googled and found thisKey is “?it
allows only apps from Microsoft Store“ - so I’m guessing you won’t be able to install JMRI at all
That link does tell you how to get out of S mode though

New laptop … advice needed, S mode?
Gang, my old basement laptop was calling it quits, so a new one has arrived. Before I install JMRI, is there anything I should be aware of? New machine is windows 11 in S mode which I don’t know much about. Does that present any issues? Thanks. Bruce B. Blackwood in Mount Airy, MD |
Re: Startup Gets Stuck
#startup
Hi, I had something a bit similar with my Windows 11 laptop.
?
The JMRI Panel Pro 5.6 startup got stuck after I'd added an NCE Power Pro connection using a USB to serial adapter and then restarted (saved the preferences and Panel Pro tried to restart).
?
My solution to get JMRI to startup was to:
?
1) kill Java in the Windows Task Manager (may stop other Java applications running at the same time?).
2) Find the JMRI profile.xml and edit out all the references to the NCE connection (I used Notepad++ for the editing). Save the edited version back where it came from (best to make a copy first).
3) Startup JMRI Panel Pro.
?
I then swapped to a Raspberry Pi running Pi OS/JMRI and the same USB to serial adapter to temporarily carry on my task.
?
I didn't solve the Win11/JMRI connection problem but maybe that's where the startup sticks for some other types of JMRI to DCC command station connection?.
?

Re: Have a question about having a train pick up a specific car
#operationspro
Another idea is to add a new "Car Type".? That's done via the Cars window, by selecting the "Add Car" button, getting that window, then clicking the Car Type "Edit" button.
?
?
Type in your new car type, then click Add:
?
?
This does NOT create a 'custom load', and allows you to use the default "L" or "E".??Set the necessary spur(s) to accept that Car Type.??
?
This has worked for me quite well with cars in/out for a steel mill, automobile plant, and grain elevators.
?
Best,

Re: DecoderPro no loco roster
#roster
I am having a similar problem.? I've run decoder pro for many years and have a roster of over 100 engines.? Yesterday, I was using it and everything was working fine.? I then shut it down and about a 1/2 hour later restarted it and low an behold no roster.? If I look on my server I can see the directory and all of my engine files but I've tried rebuild roster and it didn't work.? Can someone walk me thru the steps to recover my roster?
