Some pretty big generalisations there.
Perhaps asking the user what hardware they are using / request a simple worked example of the issue?
JMRI not responding to known valid input from any hardware is either a config. issue or a programming issue imho.
If every single issue is passed off as a JMRI quirk, nothing will ever get fixed!
ALL hardware implementations use the same code within jmri.Block.

After a think about this, the Reporters are correct in not notifying the Block that properties?of the Reported Object have changed.
Proposed solution is to add a Property Change Listener to the Block Value Object ( if the value is an Object capable of Propert Change Triggering ).
Then, when the IdTag LastSeen value is updated, the block value will get refreshed.
Hope to put some code behind this theory imminently,

Bob S is correct. They are for dropping replacement button icons.
With your image files, I think you¡¯re trying to drop them in the wrong place. Go to the Media page and you¡¯ll see two squares. Drag and drop the image file to those squares. They are for large and small loco icons, not button icons.

I have not seen any issues with the Conditional, Variable or Action reorder buttons.
Have you tried using the Tree Conditional editor?

Who is looking for an "end anchor"? ?The panel, sections, transits, dispatcher?
I assume ?you are talking about a Layout Editor panel.
Unless there is an error in the panel, it will not need an "End Bumper" since it is just a loop which would only use "Anchor Points". ?End bumpers are used to terminate a track such as a dead end spur.
Use the Layout Editor "Tools >> Check" menu items to check for inconsistencies. ?A valid panel has no red connection boxes.

Logix Conditional Reorder gray/not working
Has anyone seen this? I was doing some editing on conditionals and I've got
one that doesn't enable the Reorder button. I don't see anything in the help
page on why it wouldn't let me reorder the conditions.

Working with a more recent version of JMRI is always better, 4.11 is quite old now. I believe the latest Production version is 4.18. I have had few issues with using the test versions, currently at 4.19.3.

This is identical to the problem I posted recently about not being able to even change address from default 03.? ?To clarify, I have NCE Power Pro and Pro Cab.? BLI has a Paragon decoder.? I don't know about the Athearn.? As suggested,??I tried again on program track and got the same message on DecoderPro and the ProCab basically can't find/read decoder.? I also tried going to CV 7 & 8 and got "can't read CV".??

Actually, the cheapest solution is a DCC++ base station. If you buy the Arduino board and motor shield off Ebay you can build a station for $30-$50, using original Arduino boards will increase the price about $30. Note that this is a no-solder, no-programming solution. You just need to be able to do some downloads and have a computer (Windows/Mac (Linux?)) to run the Arduino software loading program (or IDE for the nerds). Just Google DCC++, there is quite a bit of information out there. You can also PM me.?
P.S. For those attending the NMRA convention in St. Louis in July, I will be giving a clinic (twice) on how and why to build a DCC++ base station

There's another thing I've noticed too is when you're changing icons and searching in the directories for them, the window sizes have to be adjusted each time to view them better.? Was wondering if those issues are being considered also?? I don't know a thing about writing programs, so I haven't a clue what is and isn't possible.
And I'm not trying to be a complainer by no means.... I do appreciate all the time and effort the developers put into this.? It's a great program which adds a lot of enjoyment to the hobby for sure. And yes, I do plan to help with donations as we are all encouraged to do so.
I want to thank everyone involved in making this program available!...?

Allen and George: Can you please see if the "RailDriver (Built In)" throttle works for you?
A code review suggests that "RailDriver" menu item runs to a script that I would not expect to work (because it relies on some no longer maintained code that JMRI developers do not have access to) and the "RailDriver (Built In)" menu item runs the code George wrote. If George's code is broken, we can fix it, but fixing the other code is not possible.

Hello; you must drop an image file (not drag and drop from a browser image window), use browser save to file feature, then drag and drop the saved file to the 'square', the image file will be copied in your JMRI preferences, no need to keep the original. Regards; Lionel

I will do some coding to eliminate the problem for now, however it would make more sense if a reporter updated the memory value in a block when the memory block was different, not when the value the reporter already holds is different, After all it is the memory value that gets passed from block to block.

You can place more than one panel on the monitor, just leave parts of each visible so you can easily switch between them. My web site at
shows the Conrail and Quaker Valley panels I have on a 21 inch touch screen monitor.
