Re: jmri 5.10 automation no longer functions

Bxp88’s always powered from the output of a PSX breaker with all 5 breakers getting power from track output of command center.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the last table that use to be part of the list of tables

Thank you
Tony

Thinking about it, if the bxp88 was powered by a 9v power supply and now is only powered from the track, that would also account for the different behavior.

Re: Chaining transits with a different locomotive #dispatcher

See if there's anything in the logs. Also, in the debug menu you can up the logging level of the dispatcher to debug or trace.?
See if it's waiting on an allocation, or signal. The signal issue can be easily checked by running dispatcher with the no signals option.
Does it work if using a simulated connection?

All,

Nothing surprising. My Compare current loco with saved loco CVs shows no differences.

Frankly, I would have been shocked if somehow DecoderPro's CVs tab Compare missed something.

At a loss how to proceed.

Maybe that wasn't around when I switched to warrants.

?
Warrants autotrain doesn't require a speed profile as it will create one if one doesn't exist.
It can also modify it to reflect actual operating conditions checking elapse time to traverse blocks.

Re: Have a question about having a train pick up a specific car #operationspro

It could be as simple as only allowing the station track to accept the express and diner cars.? Place the diner cars at the intermediate station. Now build the train and see if the express car is set out and the diner car is pulled.

That was my mistake and has been correct in 5.11.2 on, it was confusing me as well as most every one else.

I believe that is a setting in the bxp88, JMRI digitrax only changes occupancy on a change / status being reported from the hardware, its not polled.

Joe,

I use POM for programming all Paragon decoders.? I find them ‘problematic’ on a service mode programming track.

?

Paragon 4 (and the later Paragon 3) decoders have CV217 that can be adjusted to match them to your programming track.? Here’s a ‘Hosteler’s Inn” article on the process:

?

I found the CV217 adjustment process required too much fiddling.? Ops Mode works every time.? BLI often recommended Ops Mode for Paragon 2 and Paragon 3 (before CV217 was added).

I am trying to program an BLI engine I had upgraded to Paragon4. Sometime I program a section and it work fine and sometime I get 308 errors. Also I program one section and another section changes. Also the smoke unit works when F7 off and goes off when F7 on. I going to reload the DCC+ software but I do not believe that will help since I tried other locomotive and everything works. Any suggestions.

Dear Steve

Some of my engines run extremely slow in automation ?and run faster with throttle control. ?My speed in the block table is maximum and my speed in create train is 200% maximum.

Where else is speed during automation controlled?

Also i noticed the last table in the list of tables was something like warrants but it’s no longer there. ?Why was that page eliminated and if it was warrents where are the warrents settings now

What you describe sounds like you are using "head only". Try loco by itself with the correct length and "full trian" detection.

Dear Steve
I retried again today and automation worked.
Hope my repaired bxp’s do not have an intermittent problem.
The default when openning a create train is head only so yes the 3 allocations occurred using head only.

Does that mean head only automation doesn’t work?

I noticed when i shut track power the layout panel hold the correct allocation and occupation information.
In the past when i shut power blocks not occupied would go occupied. Was that a change?

I did not test the 3 allocations using only one train yet

If you are not using a mouse, how do you move a cursor?

Note: A touch pad / track pad is the same as a mouse.

Re: Help With crossover

Brett,

Your configuration looks correct.

While it is possible to specify up to four blocks, the normal process is to use one block for the first two entries and one for the other two entries.

Sometimes, for historical reasons it is not possible to treat the crossover as having only two blocks.

Hi Members
Could someone please help me out with A Single crossover and JMRi
?
First things first.
Please take a look at this photo of the Crossover
I presumed that one turnout has one Block so A Crossover just needs 2.
Is that correct?
Each end of the 4 crossover ends i have isolated,Power is feed to the small joins attached to the(each side) crossover(2) to make 2 blocks with sensors
Is that correct?
?
My problem comes when i choose single LH Crossover in JMRI then when i go to set masts it ask for 4 Blocks, but i only have 2
Can someone explain the Four please?
?
Appreciate your time
regards Brett

The program will only show hold cars for tracks that are serviced by only one train.? The local counts as one of the two trains.

Arrival Track & Switcher #operationspro

Set up my class yard Arrival track as a "Location".? It's length accommodates the longest trains I run.
Set up Switcher (train) to PU at Location "Arrival" and SO at yard Location.
?
When I tested, had a 30 car train arrive. The manifest showed all 30 cars set out at Arrival.
Ran train "Switcher".? It only picked up 22 of the 30 cars.
?
Viewing the build report 8 cars were excluded as class track for those 8 cars was full.
?
What puzzles me is that those 8 cars were not shown as "hold" on the csvmanifest.
?
Any ideas?
Doug
