Is it possible in jmri to run a script using a command promt if so want is the code. Thanks Tim?

Dan,

I'm finding a line excepted on import from doing an export. Line 212. All I
did was export then import. Yes it was saying 0 imported since they are all
the same as what's in there. But it is complaining about something it just
wrote. Something is sensitive in the import.

Can you try changing the first line in your import:

2635,MILW,R5,50,,Brown,Sam,02-64

TO:

2635,MILW,R5,50,0,Brown,Sam,1964

And see if that line gets imported.? Not sure if the weight missing is the issue, or the built date format.

Zipped resources now there too. Sorry but neede to cook and eat my evening meal and then deal with 3 incoming family phone calls!

If you are going to try to run it you need to know it is heavily interlocked and based aroung Tokenless Block between the Station and the Fiddle Yard.? The easiest description of TB is here?

The simple instructions are. First go to the Fiddle Yard - lower part of the Panel. Press an Inward Route - any one will do.? When the lights stop flashing press the big Accept button.? Now move to Ullapool. Press the big Offer button.? When the green TA light comes on you are ready to send a train.? You need to press the little button 1b to simulate a train being in the platform.? You need to check that Memeories rBThroat and rBApproach are 0. Now press the "D" button beside signal P1S which should light the Throat and Approach blocks white and complete the process of setting signals to the Fiddle Yard.? You can simulate the train moving by pressing the Throat button (above LS but not otherwise labelled) and then the Approch button to its right .? If you then go through the routine of pressing (so they go off) S1b, SThroat and SApproach they will all return to grey.? Press the Arrived button in the Fiddle Yard and all signals should return to red.? Then you can do it again (and again!).

Apart from setting up the memories for ManageBlocks I have only touched RP1toM to change it and created "onSThroat" to deal with one block resetting.? How Block Approach resets to Grey escapes me.

I have been testing automation for months.
Using ?jmri 4.18 you can have a train reverse at the end of a transit and have it do that continuously ?forever (depending on when either the software fails or your hardware fails). ?But this version fails to allow you to run 2 trains on the same loop as it fails if the next block after the train ends its transit is occupied. In 4.19.5 that reversing feature fails after a single reverse but the 2 train problem has been fixed

Sounds like the signal is looking the wrong way i.e. protecting east-bound instead of west-bound.

The last one on this topics:
1) when closing JMRI, it creates both a roster.xml file AND a roster.xml.bak, quite identical except the time stamp (3 seconds difference), but being either both full or both empty!(thus backup looks useless)

I went back to 4.19.5 and quite a lot less frequent issues, even if roster disappered once in 6 trials.

I have taken out the multiple calls (there were only 2 as I am testing using a single control switch) but the behaviour remains the same.? I am manually simulating the move from one Block to another until I get the layout set up (had to return a faulty AIU!).? So when the SThroat sensor is deactivated, the the released Block BThroat (Logix onSThroat) goes to Dark-Grey and its Memory rBThroat goes to 0 as there is code to DO that, but as there is no code to reverse it rBApproach remains at 1 as set in the RP1toM Logix BUT it also goes to the primary line colour Dark-Grey.

I think it unlikely that this is something in my Panel definition of Logix, but I have uploaded it for you as requested.

Last info for today: i discovered that when closing JMRI (whichever config), JMRI recreates the roster.xml file, thus I'm gessing if it's not at the closure that sometime JMRI creates an empty roster file?

Locked Ops: problems importing cars #operationspro

 

Morning -?

Trying to import a CSV file listing five cars. Each time I've tried to import, Ops has presented a pop-up window with the following:

It does nothing else - no other pop-up, etc. The text of the full CSV file (named 2020-05-10Import.csv) is as follows:

Initially, I'd used Notepad to create the file and simply manually typed each line. Attempting to import the manually created CSV file resulted in this problem. So I figured that I'd made an error somewhere and I used Excel to create a new file, copying the data from my car inventory, and attempting to import it resulted in the same pop-up. I then wondered if there was a problem with a pop-up not appearing, as if I was adding a new car type. I checked the car types to ensure that there were no new car types, road names, or colors. I am not receiving the message about calculating weight; I don't recall if I selected the option to always calculate weight or not. I went back and manually added car weights, but I still can't import.

Any ideas as to why I can't import?

JMRI version in use is 4.19.6; started this morning on 4.19.5 and noted the problem in there as well.

Relauching a 5th time the same ECoS config (still with 4.19.6), roster has disappeared again, but the resulting Roster File is now empty (1k size). BTW I compared yesterday's roster file with the previous populated one of today: same file except the date's timestamp.

Drew,

Did you attach the signal masts to block boundaries using the "Set Signal Masts" item in the right click context menu?

Did you then create the signal mast logic using the Signal Mast Logic table menu item?

If you upload the panel xml file the group's ProblemsBeingWorkedOn file folder we can review your JMRI configuration.

My setup:
A digitrax dxs51, connected via a pr3 extra, and a rr-cirkit lcc system connected via USB.

I have block detection setup and working properly.

I have a signal wired up, configured with the signal mast table (it's a basic model signal, no fancy aspects here!) , and can change the colors by clicking on it in the layout editor.

I have my layout, with blocks and signals, diagramed in the layout editor.

The problem: the signal is always red (stop aspect).

First, I tried creating a new jmri profile, making a circle with 3 blocks and a dark region, adding my signal, and... It's still always red.

If I disable the red aspect for the signal, it becomes red. If I make it anything but red, it becomes red as soon as the train is in the approach block.

So I manually set the signal to green and quit JMRI, and the signal stayed green. This is 100% a JMRI config error. And I'm at a complete loss.

I've followed the instructions on jmri.org, including the 7 steps to get a signal working.

I'm trying to get abs signaling, basic, I would think...?

Is there something that at I'm missing?
